Blackhawks Score In Triple Overtime To Win Stanley Cup Game 1

It took three overtimes and a double-deflection, but the Chicago Blackhawks kept the home advantage and drew first blood in the Stanley Cup. Andrew Shaw redirected the puck with his knee for the winning goal, and the Blackhawks beat the Boston Bruins, 4-3.

Chicago defender Michal Rozsival collected the puck at the right point and shot the puck toward a scrum of players in front of goal. The shot deflected off center Dave Bolland's knee, and then bounced off Shaw's, who was lurking at the edge of the crease. The redirected puck snuck by Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask and into the back of the net for the dramatic winner.

Boston was actually up 3-1 in the third period, but Bolland and Johnny Oduya scored to complete the comeback. Jaromir Jagr almost won it for the Bruins in the waning seconds of second overtime, but his deflection clanged off the goalpost. The Blackhawks are now 10-1 at home this year in the NHL playoffs.
