Browns place OT Trent Brown (knee) on IR, ending his season
Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Trent Brown (77) is assisted off the field by the medical staff in the second quarter of the NFL Week 3 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Washington Commanders at Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024. The Commanders led 21-13 at halftime. The Cincinnati Bengals placed starting right tackle Trent Brown on injured reserve on Saturday, and he will miss the rest of the season because of a torn patellar tendon in his right knee.
Brown was injured during the second quarter of Cincinnati's 38-33 loss to the Washington Commanders on Monday. He was replaced by Cincinnati's first-round pick, Amarius Mims, who made his NFL debut earlier in the game.
Mims, 21, is expected to start for the Bengals (0-3) in place of Brown, who missed practice all week and had been ruled out of Sunday's game against the host Carolina Panthers (1-2).
Brown, 31, was a Pro Bowl performer in 2019 for the then-Oakland Raiders, one of his four NFL teams. He was a starter for the New England Patriots through their run to the Super Bowl championship in the 2018 season.
Brown has appeared in 103 games with 96 starts for the 49ers, Patriots, Raiders and Bengals since he was selected by San Francisco in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
