Defective Trojans Produce Disastrous Results
Ho-ly shit. In what can only be described as delightful surprise the Stanford Cardinal (Stanford!) upended USC in the biggest D1-on-D1 upset of the season decade. It marked the Trojans first loss at the Colosseum in their last 34 outings. I'm not sure Pete Carrol will ever sleep again after dropping a game to the Pac 10's worst team. It's one thing to lose, but to lose to Jim Harbaugh? Oh the humanity!
The final score was 24-23, but it hardly matters at this point. USC entered the game as a 40 (forty!) point favorite over one of the nation's most abysmal football programs and they exited with a season-crippling loss. In the end it was somebody named Tavita Pritchard, and not John David Booty, that made the requisite plays under center to lead his team to victory.
We won't know what all of the consequences of the loss will be, but tomorrow's rankings are going to be dramatically shuffled for the second consecutive week. It's almost as if these voters are naturally subjective and biased—who knew?!
