Most DraftKings sportsbook reviews agree the site’s welcome offer is mostly great, but I noticed a couple of drawbacks when claiming the bonus as well. Here are the key pros and cons to note when claiming bonuses on DraftKings:
The DraftKings new customers bonus is as easy as it sounds—spend $5 on sports bets on the DraftKings Sportsbook and get $200 in bonus bets to spend on making sports selections, if your bet wins. Here’s a step-by-step guide you can follow to claim the DraftKings welcome bonus:
You should receive $200 in bonus bets after spending the required minimum amount of $5, provided you haven’t already used a separate DraftKings Sportsbook bonus code in Washington DC. Claiming a bonus on the site’s online casino, horse racing, or DFS divisions may cause you to forfeit the sportsbook bonus, and similarly, claiming the sportsbook bonus likely disqualifies you from any other ongoing welcome bonus.
You don’t have to enter a DraftKings promo code in Washington, DC to claim your welcome bonus; you’ll get the same offer whether or not you supply the code during signup.

The numerous terms and conditions attached to the promo code for DraftKings in Washington DC make it a bit of a challenge to claim and use. Here are some expert tips that made my experience seamless:
The DraftKings welcome bonus in Washington DC has quite a few eligibility requirements. For starters, you must be at least 18 and be physically present in Washington or any part of the U.S. to qualify for the bonus.
Additionally, you must not have placed a wager of up to $5 to qualify for the bonus, and you should be eligible to bet on the sportsbook. There are a few secondary requirements, like not being on any exclusion list and being the only person claiming the bonus from your device or IP address.
Additionally, you must place your qualifying bet within the promotional period for the bonus. When signing up for DraftKings, consider going through the fine print to ensure you’ve met all the stated eligibility requirements.
On DraftKings, all sportsbook bonuses, including the welcome bonus for Washington DC residents, come with a seven-day expiry window, which starts counting immediately after you place a qualifying bet following your registration.
The deadline elapses in 168 hours, after which you forfeit the entire bonus. I highly recommend placing a series of bets shortly after using your DraftKings Sportsbook bonus code in Washington DC to avoid forfeiting your bonus.
Bonuses on DraftKings adhere to the platform’s terms and conditions and the specific terms and conditions for that particular promotion. I recommend thoroughly reading all the provisions to understand how the offer works and the behavior to expect when using the bonus code.
For example, the welcome bonus for DraftKings users in Washington DC is only available to users 18 and older, while users from most other states have to be at least 21 to claim the site’s bonuses.
I wouldn’t know this without reading the terms and conditions; who knows what other relevant information might also be inside the document?
DraftKings is a relatively generous sportsbook, so I was hardly surprised that it has a welcome offer of up to $200 in bonus bets instantly. Claiming the bonus is a piece of cake: make a $5 deposit and spend it on any sports wager. You can unlock your bonus of $200 in bonus bets instantly and use on any betting market on DraftKings. Sportsbook bonuses really don’t get any better. If you’re after a generous promotion as a Washingtonian, try DraftKings.
Claiming your DraftKings welcome bonus is straightforward: sign up for an account, deposit $5 or more, and spend at least $5 to get your bonus instantly; it’s really that simple.
No, you’ll always get a field to enter a promo code, but you don’t have to fill it out to claim your bonus. The DraftKings welcome bonus is available to all new users, whether or not they supply a promo code during registration.
The bonus bets from DraftKings’ welcome bonus expire after a seven-day window, provided you fail to complete the wagering requirements. However, if you wager the bonus on a bet and win, you’ll be allowed to withdraw the proceeds or spend them making other selections.
