MLB.com just announced that Yankees third baseman/lipstick model Alex Rodriguez has won the American League MVP award. We salute A-Rod on this "victory."

Also saluting him: New York City poker clubs, birthday girl stalking fans, members of online dating service WebDate, and, of course, those who are really, really into swinging.

Congratulations, A-Rod. This should shoot your likability quotient into the stratosphere. Surely, there is no more popular athlete today than Alex Rodriguez. Who doesn't love that guy?
