Los Angeles Plays Itself
We come to you live from Los Angeles, California, a city in which we once lived and still kind of miss a little. And that's not just because there is no NFL team here. Though that doesn't hurt.
The book tour is off in earnest tonight: Our mad dash from Los Angeles to Alameda to Seattle to Chicago to Champaign to St. Louis to Mattoon to Boston to Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. back to New York begins tonight, at Book Soup here in Los Angeles. We were very honored last night to be a guest on KLAC last night, and, amusingly, we got to talk to Lakers VP and Phil Jackson ballhandler Jeannie Buss, who, we swear to God, actually claimed to have picked up Phil by saying "You're With Me, Leather." That was disconcerting.
We don't think it's a coincidence that we're arriving in Los Angeles at the same time as Pau Gasol. If we could grow a beard in his honor, we would. Instead, we're just gonna buy a Joe Torre jersey. Still pretty weird having him out here; we think we saw him selling oranges off the 405 last night.
