Not Even Death Will Keep Us Apart
You could probably use this story to prove that people are too much into soccer in Europe, if you wanted to.
Turns out, German soccer club Hamburg SV is opening a cemetery right next to their stadium. The idea is that fans love their team so much that they would want to rest next to it for all eternity.
Or, to put it the way the club does: "For a large number of people, it's important to be close to the club after their lives are over. The cemetery will have the look of a small, open stadium." There are only 500 graves "up for grabs," so "competition is expected to be fierce." By the way, the dead only sign a 25-year contract; after that, it's possible they might lose their spot. No, seriously.
As we said, you could probably use this story to prove that people are too much into soccer in Europe, if you wanted to. But that's only if you haven't been to Giants Stadium. All kinds of people buried next to that place.
