The Doggest Day Of Summer
It's only 400,000 degrees in Brooklyn today, rather than 4,000,000, but that doesn't mean today's been any less difficult of a day; we are fully wrapped up in the most boring sports day of the year. No sports today — not counting the WNBA, of course — and the taping of the ESPYs. Some might say you should go out and talk to your families and friends today. But what's the point of that?
As we wonder the heck they're gonna be showing on "SportsCenter" tonight — My Brain Says Rage has a helpful dead-day "SportsCenter" drinking game — we try to fire ourselves up for the next long slog through August until the NFL begins. (We're just two weeks away from the NFL previews starting, by the way.) Baseball Prospectus gives us the scoop on the second half of baseball, and J.J. Redick is rocking the summer league.
Sigh. OK. Baseball will be back Thursday. Hang in there.
