Warriors Were Closer Than You Probably Think They Were
The final score might not have been indicative, but anyone who watched that Dallas-Golden State game last night knows that the Warriors had every opportunity to make this a 2-0 series last night. Something — whether it's pace, or just Avery Johnson being a bad playoff coach — about the Warriors falls in some sort of Mavericks crevice; this team really does have their number.
Fortunately for the Mavs, the Warriors self-destructed in the second half, and not only is the series tied, but Stephen Jackson — of all people! — could possibly face a Game 3 suspension. (We don't think he deserves one, but it is Stephen Jackson.) This series is still, though, a long way from over; we suspect Oakland might show up Friday night.
Oh, and also last night, the Spurs evened their series with the Nuggets in oddly unconvincing fashion, and the Cavaliers ... well, at least they're being polite about the dispatching of the depleted Wizards.
