French Fitness Blogger Dies In Freak Whipped Cream Canister Accident
Photo: [object Object] French fitness blogger and Instagram user Rebecca Burger died Sunday after a pressurized whipped cream canister exploded and struck her in the chest, according to a statement from her family.
Burger’s family also shared a photo of the device that killed her:
Ard’time, the manufacturer of the canister, put out a press release acknowledging the incident and urging consumers to comply with a 2013 recall effort. A French consumer magazine reported that several have exploded and knocked out people’s teeth, broken bones in users’ heads and chests, and caused other injuries. However, Burger is supposedly the first person who has actually died as a result of exploding canisters.
French authorities are investigating the accident and Burger’s family also reportedly plans to sue.
