Here Are Some Snapshots From John Daly's Last 24 Hours
Photo Credit: Stuart Franklin/ [object Object] Today was the first round of the PGA Championship, hosted this year at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C. It’s been an eventful one, to say the least, for John Daly.
Here he is at 10:30 p.m. last night, singing “Purple Rain” onstage with Darius Rucker. (This was not his first time sharing the stage with a member of Hootie & The Blowfish, though it does seem to be his first time doing so less than 10 hours before his tee time for the first round of a major tournament.)
Here he is at 7:45 a.m. this morning, heading to the driving range less than an hour before his tee time:
Here he is at 12:23 p.m., in the top 10 and just two strokes behind the lead after recording his fourth birdie of the day on the fourteenth hole:
And here he was at the end of the afternoon, after recording a triple bogey on the eighteenth hole to finish three over and seven strokes off the lead. As recorded by Joedy McCreary of the Associated Press:
