Here's One Really Sad Fact About The Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are bad. But just how bad are they? For more, we turn to a five-day-old story involving David Garrard.
ESPN’s Mike DiRocco was apparently flipping through the Jaguars’ media guide when he realized the franchise record for touchdown passes in a single season happened in 2010, when Garrard racked up 23. With the pass-happy circus that is the current NFL, that seems quite low. DiRocco talked to Garrard and gave him the good(?) news:
“I can’t believe it’s even a record,” Garrard said. “I’m definitely surprised that it stood up.”
DiRocco pulled out a stat to highlight Jacksonville’s accomplishment: Quarterbacks have accumulated 23 or more touchdown passes in a season 171 times over the past 20 seasons. The Jaguars, established in 1995, have Garrard. That’s it.
Blake Bortles has one touchdown pass through one game this season. The race is on!
