"I GAVE YOU A THUMB'S UP!" Providence Live TV Report Goes Poorly
Here you have WJAR sports guy Frank Carpano trying to deliver a live report on the Big East championship game for Providence's NBC affiliate. Yeah, there are some technical difficulties, but it's Frank's enraged thumb's up that we're laughing hardest about.
The Friars took home the Big East tournament title tonight in New York, but Carpano's live report from Madison Square Garden on the WJAR 11:00 news didn't work for whatever reason. (If you can't hear anything through your IFB, Frank, don't give the thumb's up?) We're almost inclined to think this is a taped package and WJAR took the wrong version—as happened in this famous media meltdown.
A big night for the Friars, though. If WJAR sounds familiar to you, it's because they're the station that investigated beer pong and taught you how to avoid bear attacks.
