Israeli Professional Soccer Team Renamed After Greasy Huckster
credits: Chip Somodevilla | source: [object Object] The new U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem will be opened with a big ceremony on Monday. Ivanka and Jared will be there! I am not here to offer commentary on this development—it is deeply unpopular with basically the entire rest of the world, much like just about everything else the Trump administration has done—but to point out that, in thanks for the move, a soccer team in Israel is renaming itself after President Trump:
“The football club Beitar Jerusalem, one of the most prominent symbols of the city, are happy to honor the President for his love and support with a gesture of our own. The chairmen of the club, the owner Eli Tabib and the executive manager Eli Ohana have decided to add to the club’s title the name of the American President who made history, and from now on will be called Beitar Trump Jerusalem.”
So there will now be a top Israeli soccer club named after President Trump. Many people are saying this is a historic honor and that no international soccer clubs were ever named after the LOSER Barack Obama. Sad!
