Jim Irsay Mailed A Fan $8,500 In Cash For Predicting The Score Of The AFC Championship
Colts owner is a weird dude. But he's honest. So when he tweeted Sunday afternoon that he'd give $8,500 to the first person to correctly predict the outcome and score of the Ravens/Patriots game (with a one-point cushion), there was no reason not to take a guess. One Colts fan named Jason went with Baltimore, 27-13 (he was off by one) and waited.
As Jason told a Phish message board, he received a DM from Irsay after the game requesting his mailing address. This afternoon, a FedEx package arrived. You can see the contents above—$8,500, in hundred-dollar bills, and a note from Irsay (click to enlarge).
As Jason writes on PhantasyTour, "I think [Irsay] is the best owner in the NFL." But he's slightly biased.
