Kings Draftee's Father Is A Fiery, Irrepressible Twitter Troll
Photo via [object Object] Last night, the Sacramento Kings selected Georgios Papagiannis with the 13th pick in the NBA Draft. The Kings, who have two guards under contract, passed on the only prospect to work out for them (Wade Baldwin) to draft a player who ESPN had going in the second round and Draft Express ranked as the 50th-best prospect. DeMarcus Cousins summed up the feelings of Kings fans by expressing his, uh, puzzlement at the pick.
However, even though the Kings now have four centers on the team, the Papagiannis pick was a brilliant one. Not because of the player Papagiannis could become, but because his father is a highly persistent Twitter troll who will yell at you online if you say that Dragan Bender is better than his son. SI’s Luke Winn pointed this out last night, and given that Winn once profiled Georgios and a bunch of basketball scouts and writers follow him, we are inclined to believe that this is actually Papagiannis’s father. I truly hope so, because look at these salty-ass tweets.
He really hates Dragan Bender.
Other European prospects too.
And he will tweet highlight videos at you if you mention “Papagiannis”:
Seems like his temperament will pair well with Boogie after all.
