Withdrawal methods remains unchanged, with users still able to transfer out their balances using standard methods such as wire transfer.
bet365 is operational in 16 states across the country, including Arizona, New Jersey, Ohio, and more. Users placing wagers within these locations are the ones impacted by these changes.
With this move, bet365 joins major operators like DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM in removing credit cards as a funding option. The shift reflects a broader industry trend toward stricter payment policies tied to responsible gaming initiatives.
FanDuel introduced its nationwide policy in 2026, following a similar decision by DraftKings the year prior. Both companies pointed to efforts aimed at reducing the risks associated with credit-based betting, including high fees and the potential for accumulating debt.
BetMGM has also taken steps in the same direction, aligning its policies with responsible gaming goals as regulatory scrutiny continues to increase.
By joining these other operators, bet365 is demonstrating a willingness to emphasize responsible gaming. For bettors, it’s good that this method has been removed, since it can lead to more impulsive behavior when placing wagers, as they’re using credit instead of personal funds.
bet365 is making another push to enter Massachusetts after previously missing out when the state launched legal sports betting in 2023. At the time, regulators declined the company’s entry as part of the initial rollout.
The state enforces strict rules that prohibit the use of credit cards for gambling deposits, which is one of several regulatory requirements operators must meet to gain approval.
A recent decision by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to reopen the application process now gives bet365 another opportunity to secure a license within the state.
bet365’s move to eliminate credit card deposits aligns with these requirements. It may strengthen its position as it looks to expand into new jurisdictions with stricter consumer protection standards, like Massachusetts.
