DraftKings has extended its sports betting agreement with Boot Hill Casino & Resort, strengthening the operator’s long-term position in the Kansas sports betting market. The new 10-year agreement comes as Boot Hill also secured a three-year extension of its sports wagering management contract with the Kansas Lottery.
Kansas retail and online sports betting went live in September 2022. Sports betting is offered through the Kansas Lottery and the private managers of the state’s four lottery gaming facilities. Under Kansas law, the Lottery retains ultimate control over sports wagering, while the facility managers operate wagering.
In Kansas, each lottery gaming facility manager can contract with up to three online sports betting sites. Those agreements require approval from the Kansas Lottery. Sportsbook platforms must also undergo background checks by the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission.
That structure is different from some other U.S. sports betting markets where sportsbook operators obtain licenses directly from a state gaming regulator. In Kansas, online sportsbooks need a relationship with one of the state’s lottery gaming facility managers to access the market.
DraftKings is one of the operators live in Kansas through its partnership with Boot Hill Casino & Resort. That makes Boot Hill’s extended agreement with the Kansas Lottery particularly important for DraftKings. Boot Hill’s new three-year extension keeps its sports wagering management agreement in place through 2030, keeping its partnership with DraftKings intact.

DraftKings’ decision to extend its partnership with Boot Hill comes as the sportsbook leads the Kansas market in wagering volume.
According to the Kansas Lottery’s July 2026 revenue report, DraftKings generated approximately $74 million in online settled wagers during the month. That represented about 44.7% of the $165.6 million wagered online across all Kansas sportsbooks. FanDuel ranked second with $47.8 million in settled wagers, followed by bet365 at $15.1 million.
DraftKings also led the market in online sports betting revenue, generating approximately $4.6 million in July. FanDuel followed closely with $4.1 million, while no other operator surpassed $1.1 million.
By extending its partnership with Boot Hill, DraftKings has positioned itself to continue to function as the market leader in Kansas sports betting.
Kansas could eventually add more online sportsbooks, although there are currently no major operators with confirmed plans to enter the market.
The state’s sports betting framework leaves room for additional competition. Each of Kansas’ four lottery gaming facility managers can partner with up to three online sportsbook platforms. There are still available mobile platform spots at this time.
The most recent addition to the market was bet365, which launched through Kansas Star Casino in July 2026. It remains to be seen whether more operators will enter the market in the future.
