FanDuel is expanding its responsible gambling partnership with Kindbridge Behavioral Health, which began in 2024, adding more resources aimed at addressing problem gambling. It now includes mental health assessments, early-intervention programs, and employee education. It also features access to support services, highlighting that responsible gaming remains a priority for FanDuel.
Kindbridge is an online mental health provider that specializes in problem gambling and other behavioral health concerns, making it a suitable partner for a prominent sports betting operator like FanDuel.
Cory Fox, Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Sustainability at FanDuel stated, “We understand mental health and gambling can be closely connected, particularly among young men, so expanding access to behavioral health resources was a priority.”
Fox went on to add that “Kindbridge stood out for its focus on gambling disorder and its commitment to making treatment more accessible.”
One of the more recent initiatives came in March 2026, when more than 6,000 FanDuel users completed a voluntary Kindbridge survey. The survey was designed to help participants evaluate their gambling habits and consider how their play could be connected to their mental health.
FanDuel also provides a complimentary mental health assessment through Kindbridge when a customer chooses to self-exclude. From there, customers can access educational courses, peer support groups, and counseling from licensed therapists.
The expanded Kindbridge partnership gives FanDuel another way to position itself as an industry leader in responsible gaming. Rather than relying only on traditional safeguards such as deposit limits and self-exclusion, FanDuel is adding programs designed to identify potential issues earlier.
The voluntary survey completed by more than 6,000 users is one example of that approach. Instead of waiting until a player chooses to self-exclude, FanDuel gave users an opportunity to assess their own gambling behavior and consider whether it may be affecting their mental health.
That proactive strategy could become increasingly important as sportsbooks face greater scrutiny over player protection. By working with a behavioral health provider and expanding access to assessments and counseling, FanDuel is making responsible gaming a more integrated part of its platform.
The expanded Kindbridge partnership also comes at a time when FanDuel has faced increased scrutiny over its responsible gambling practices, particularly around its VIP program.
Earlier this month, Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Reps. Paul Tonko and Valerie Foushee called on FanDuel to answer questions about its VIP policies. The scrutiny followed reports that a FanDuel VIP manager sent a personalized video featuring Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper to a user allegedly dealing with problem gambling in November 2024.
FanDuel has defended its player protection measures, pointing to monitoring systems designed to identify problem gambling. The Kindbridge partnership adds another layer to those efforts by giving customers access to independent mental health assessments.
While the Kindbridge partnership came before the Harper controversy, FanDuel is increasingly under pressure to demonstrate that its responsible gambling policies are proactive. To that end, expanding these offerings comes at an ideal time.
