Several sweepstakes casino operators have started withdrawing from Indiana and Maine, including Modo.us, McLuck, Hello Millions, Jackpota, Mega Bonanza, PlayFame, SpinBlitz, Baba Casino, and ACE Casino. Both states became the first to ban sweepstakes casinos during the 2026 legislative session.
Sweepstakes casino operators have not followed a singular approach when exiting Indiana and Maine, with many platforms implementing staggered shutdown timelines tied to each. Instead of immediate departures, several companies are slowly phasing out operations by restricting account access, disabling purchases, or transitioning players away from Sweeps Coin gameplay over multiple weeks.
B-Two Operations, which runs several sweepstakes casinos, provides one of the examples of the differing strategies. On June 2, Mega Bonanza and Jackpota added Indiana and Maine to their prohibited territories, ending both Gold Coin and Sweeps Coin gameplay in those states immediately. However, sister platforms McLuck, Hello Millions, PlayFame, and SpinBlitz remain active for now, though all four updated their terms this week to confirm upcoming exits.
Those sites plan to stop operating in Indiana on July 1 and Maine on July 15, aligning directly with the implementation dates of each state’s sweepstakes gaming ban legislation.
Other operators are taking more gradual approaches. Modo.us shifted Indiana and Maine into “GC Only States” on May 29, meaning Sweeps Coin gameplay is no longer available while Gold Coin gameplay remains operational. ACE Casino took a stricter route by fully excluding both states from its platform beginning May 27.
Baba Casino is conducting one of the most structured phaseouts among major operators. The platform first halted new account registrations in Indiana and Maine on May 17, then stopped Gold Coin package purchases on June 1. Existing users can continue redeeming Sweeps Coins until June 14, while account access is scheduled to end completely on June 21.
Ruby Sweeps, Pulsz Casino, and Pulsz Bingo also exited Indiana during May as more sweepstakes gaming companies prepare for the regulatory changes taking effect in both states.
The reason for these phased-out shutdowns is to give users a chance to play on their platforms a little longer, as well as redeem any Sweeps Coins still in their accounts.
The recent exits from Indiana and Maine highlight the growing pressure facing the sweepstakes casino industry across the United States. As more lawmakers and regulators scrutinize these models, it is becoming increasingly difficult for operators to maintain long-term stability in U.S. markets.
