Underdog is stepping up its Responsible Gaming game following an agreement with Sportradar Group to incorporate Bettor Sense into its product. Bettor Sense is Sportradar’s AI-powered responsible gaming solution to identify high-risk players. According to the press release, Underdog is the first U.S.-based operator to leverage Bettor Sense.
Underdog is a daily fantasy sports operator. The company, which launched in 2020, is a licensed North Carolina sports betting operator. Underdog is one of the nine brands gearing up for the December 1 Missouri sports betting launch.
Adam Warrington, Underdog’s VP of responsible gaming, said integrating Bettor Sense is another step in Underdog’s “proactive approach to enhanced player protection across all entry types.”
“The integration of this leading player protection technology to protect problem play and provide clear resources to those who need it, now including treatment services from the clinicians at Birchers Health, is a critical step forward for our players.”
The Bettor Sense unique player protection and well-being program identifies individuals exhibiting problem gambling behavior through its AI-powered technology. Additionally, gamblers have access to care services at Birches Health, known as a national leader in evidence-based treatment to address gambling disorders.
Bettor Sense launched in July 2025. Sportradar’s advanced responsible gaming solution helps detect early signs of gambling-related risks and facilitates personalized interventions to protect users. The solution, which is fully compliant with regulatory standards, will enable Underdog to enhance player protection in several areas, including:
Jim Brown, head of integrity services and athlete wellbeing at Sportradar, praised Underdog for taking a meaningful step to provide safeguards and resources to players who exhibit potential problem gaming behavior.
“Sportradar’s expertise and innovative solutions are designed to not only address the needs of our clients but also support a secure and sustainable industry,” Brown said.
Underdog’s agreement to incorporate Bettor Sense comes as Responsible Gaming Education month is winding down. The Underdog platform already includes a whole section dedicated to responsible gaming and player protection.
The company reminds players to only play with money that they can afford to lose and not chase losses. The latter is considered a sign of problem gambling. In North Carolina, the one state where the Underdog sports betting app is currently live, sports bettors will find links and numbers to address problem gaming. The 1-800-GAMBLER hotline is listed as well.
Underdog users have the option to set deposit and wager limits. If necessary, players can self-exclude directly from the app. There is a completely separate page dedicated to fantasy responsible gaming resources.
Adding Bettor Sense adds another important layer to the current RG and player protection tools.
