Missouri Man Holds Up Bank, Yells "Go Cards" As He Makes His Getaway
Fans of the St. Louis Cardinals are just the best in baseball, aren't they? While everyone else robs banks in the greater St. Louis area in such a negative, surly way, Cardinals fans do it with gusto and spirit and enthusiasm.
Here's the Post-Dispatch:
Police know at least one clue about a bearded bandit who held up a First Bank branch in Arnold today: He's a Cardinals fan.
Or, at the very least, a fair-weather fan excited about the Redbirds' chances of playing in the World Series.
About 1:15 p.m., the man went into the First Bank at 3850 Jeffco Boulevard, handed a teller a note demanding cash and walked out with money, authorities say.
He never showed a weapon, but the robber yelled, "Go Cards!" on his way out of the bank, according to the FBI.
And like every other bearded white guy in St. Louis at this time of year, he'll be unstoppable. The FBI probably shouldn't even bother.
