MLB Suspends Bryce Harper One Game
MLB has fined and suspended Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper for one game for “his actions” after he was ejected in Monday’s game against the Tigers. Harper will appeal.
The league’s full statement said that Harper was punished “for his actions following his ninth inning ejection, which included returning to the field.”
Umpire Brian Knight ejected Harper from the dugout for arguing balls and strikes during Danny Espinosa’s at-bat the bottom of the ninth. Clint Robinson hit a walk-off homer in the next at-bat; Harper joined his teammates at home plate and yelled “Fuck you,” at Knight.
