Packed is a new app-only mystery box platform that lets you reveal Pokémon, One Piece, basketball, and baseball cards. You can chase some high-value cards here as long as you own an Apple device.

My Packed review may come in handy to you if you care to learn more about how exactly the product works. I’ve downloaded the app, registered for an account, and opened multiple card packs to see how the platform compares to similar brands. I liked what I saw, and I’m sharing all about it on this page.

Open digital mystery boxes from your phone

As I stated in the intro, Packed is a mystery box platform. I can also categorize the brand as a card break app because the only thing you can reveal here is cards. In my Cases.gg review, for example, I explain how you can choose among 350 cases with various goods inside. Clash.gg is 100% focused on Counter-Strike GO skins and goodies. My point is that it’s typical for a digital mystery box brand to specialize in something.

The concept of Packed is as simple as it gets:

  1. You register.

  2. Deposit to fund your balance.

  3. Choose one of the 18+ card packs available.

  4. Reveal the card inside.

  5. Decide if you want to keep, ship, or sell back the card.

  6. Repeat the process and build your card collection.

Right at the start of this review, I want to clarify that Packed comes as an iOS app only. You will notice in my review of Packly, Clash.gg, or Gemint that each brand has a different approach to accessibility. Packly works through desktop devices and mobile browsers. Rips by Triumph works through iOS and Android apps. Some brands have a desktop version in addition to mobile apps. There are no rules, so no approach is 100% good or bad. You choose based on what works for you.

Back to Packed, you can use the service only if you download its dedicated iOS app. I’ve summarized the app specifications and rating to give you the essentials necessary to decide if it looks good to you or not.

If you see the app in your Apple App Store, that’s a clear sign that you’re eligible to download it, as the app imposes strict geolocation requirements. Even before you try to deposit, you must give full location access to the application.

Reveal cards from Pokémon, One Piece, basketball, and baseball card packs

Now that I’ve covered what Packed is and how you can use it, I want to focus on the best part of the platform: opening mystery boxes. The brand covers four main markets; one half is dedicated to trading card games and another half to sports.

Here are the details you need to know.

MarketCard pack optionsPrice range
Pokémon6 packs$1 – $1,000
One Piece4 packs$25 – $250
Basketball4 packs$25 – $250
Baseball4 packs$25 – $250

As you can see, Pokémon has the most affordable options, as you can start opening boxes for as little as one dollar. The other options are a bit more expensive, though in line with what you’ll see on other platforms covering those markets. I liked that one click opens the full pull odds and reveals the recent big pulls. You can easily explore what could be inside each card pack, so the transparency is at the highest level.

It’s important to mention here that the pack tiers range from Basic to Grail, and the max pulls in the highest levels go up to $100,000. Some cool chases that got my attention were the Poncho-Wearing Pikachu valued at $32,264 and the Mario Pikachu valued at $32,090.

I also browsed the recent notable pulls, and here are a few of them from each market:

  • Basketball pull: Cade Cunningham ($1,077)
  • Pokémon pull: Luigi Pikachu ($18,035)
  • Baseball pull: Cam Schlittler ($809)
  • One Piece pull: Nami ($1,525)

Keep, ship, or sell back at 100% fair market value

After the whole ceremony of revealing a card is over, you’re left with a decision to make. You have three options to choose from.

  • Keep the card – If you choose this option, the digital card will be added to your digital vault. Keep in mind that you can have a maximum of 10 cards in your vault at any given time, and you can’t keep a card for more than a day.
  • Request shipping – If you reveal something you must have in physical form, you can request fast and safe shipping to your home address.
  • Sell back – Packed offers buyback at 100% fair market value within the first 24 hours from the moment you’ve revealed a card.

All these options are standard for card break sites, though I must praise the 100% buyback. Let’s take my GEMINT review as an example. On this platform, the standard buyback is 90% of the market value.

A few ways to claim bonuses and rewards on Packed

I find the topic of bonuses and promotions important as I’m always happy to get a free pack or some bonus funds. In my Clash.gg review, I highlight the welcome deal of three free cases given to new users, for example. Rips by Triumph doesn’t have a welcome offer at all. Packed does give a special promo when you register, but you won’t get it for free. Instead, when you try to make your first deposit, you’ll notice a special deal available to you.

For example, there used to be a 20% bonus of up to $40 for those who would deposit at least $100 and use a specific code. The brand seems to change the deals and codes, so refer to the banners on this page or to the cashier when logged in to see what the actual deal is.

Once you become an established user of Packed, you can move on to the other ongoing promotions.

I’ve listed the ones that got my attention:

  • Claim various deposit-based bonuses.
  • Refer friends to get a commission of up to 2.50%.
  • Join social media limited-time promotions.

My overall impression of the Packed bonuses was positive, despite the fact that there was no free card pack on registration. The referral program was solid, and so were the other deals. I explain more about the promo codes, bonus rules, and tips for using the deals on my dedicated bonus page. Check it out if you’d like more details on the topic.

Instant deposits and withdrawals

Next, I want to give some information about depositing funds into your Packed account and withdrawing your balance. Regarding the deposits, you can make them with cards, Apple Pay, and bank transfers. The limits depend on the chosen method and appear when you select your desired option.

Moving on to the withdrawals, the minimum withdrawal is $10, and you can cash out your available balance via debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, or bank transfers. ID verification is mandatory for this step, and the process completes within 24 hours.

Withdrawals complete within 10 minutes, with bank transfers being the sole exception that may take between three and five business days. Other things to note are the limit of three withdrawals within 24 hours and the maximum withdrawal amount of $5,000 per transaction.

I’d say that all these rules and limits are standard and similar to what I’ve seen on other online mystery box sites. The only thing I’d like to see added here is the option to use cryptocurrency.

Things to know about Packed before getting the app

Before I conclude my review, I’d like to cover a few other important aspects of the brand’s operations. I checked what customer care options you have, analyzed the trustworthiness, and shared my experience with the app from a user perspective.

Customer care

With a dedicated help and support section as well as 24/7 live chat, Packed meets my expectations about customer care. There’s nothing special to note here, aside from praising how easy it is to reach help first through a chatbot and then a human agent.

Trustworthiness

I have to say that most of the Packed reviews I managed to find online were those left for the app. The feedback was positive, and users praised the UX, the visuals, and the concept.

Of course, I always share the complaints to be fully transparent. On that front, users mentioned how they mostly revealed cards with equal or lower value than the card pack price. Some of them also mentioned a slow verification process, something I can’t say I struggled with.

As for the company behind Packed, I discovered it’s called PlayPacked Inc., and it’s based in New York. I always give extra trustworthiness points to US-based brands because they must follow stricter rules.

A few notes on the app’s user experience

Specifically designed for iOS devices, the app works super well on iPhones and iPads. It looked neat on my iPhone, and I appreciated the option to turn on or off the app music, the sound effects, and the haptics. It was interesting to add my phone number and immediately have an account, skipping any boring registration steps.

I found moving around to be intuitive and easy whenever I used the app with two hands or one hand. With Apple Pay among the deposit methods, making payments was too smooth.

Packed is a good mystery box platform if you own an Apple device

Packed can be anyone’s favorite mystery box platform as long as you’re okay with the two main restrictions of the service. The first is, of course, the limited access to iOS devices. The second is the markets covered, which are Pokémon, One Piece, basketball, and baseball.

If you own an iPhone and like these markets, you can browse among 18 card packs in different price ranges and with some awesome potential chases. As I highlight in my Packed review, the app is easy to use, and it even includes some bonuses. It provides a wholesome user experience in every sense.

Packed review FAQs

💻 Can I open online mystery boxes on Packed on my laptop?

No, you can’t. For the time being, Packed works through an iOS app only, which means it’s available on Apple devices. I’ll keep an eye out, and if anything changes, I’ll update this page right away.

⏰ What’s the 24-hour buyback rule on Packed?

The platform mentions that you have 24 hours to decide if you want to sell back a revealed card at 100% of its fair market value or request shipping. After those 24 hours pass, the platform may perform an automatic buyback action.

📦 Is Packed a sweepstakes casino?

No, Packed is not a sweepstakes casino, and it doesn’t have any traits of a sweepstakes casino. Packed is a digital mystery box app whose focus is on card packs in four different markets.
