Shiny: Pros and Cons
  • Pokémon and One Piece cards
  • Pack prices to suit all budgets
  • Loyalty and referral bonuses
  • No native mobile app available

Officially launched in February 2026, Shiny.com is a digital collectibles platform. It sells mystery packs containing Pokémon and One Piece trading cards, at a variety of price points. There’s also a marketplace for users to trade individual cards.

I’ve put this Shiny review together after spending the last few weeks testing all aspects of the site. My guide details everything you need to know, including the cards available, how to pay, and what happens once a pack is ripped. I’ll also discuss a few interesting promotions, the support channels and explain the platform’s Battles feature.

What is Shiny and is it completely legit?

Shiny.com – better known simply as “Shiny” – is an online marketplace that sells mystery packs of Pokémon and One Piece cards. Every pack contains a single item, but you don’t know what that is until it’s open.

Although I understand plenty about this concept, I wasn’t aware of this particular brand until recently – so I did lots of digging before signing up. Here’s what I found:

  • Official cards. All of the Pokémon and One Piece cards are authentic and certified, graded by organizations like PSA.
  • Provably fair. Shiny offers detailed explanations of how you – or anyone – can independently verify the random nature of each rip.
  • Transparent. Both the website and Discord server provide lots of information about the company, its future plans and the terms of service.

By the way, you must be at least 18 years old to sign up, and you can do so from anywhere in the United States. Shiny doesn’t have any sort of operating licence, because it doesn’t need one – there’s no gambling or sweepstakes element to this platform.

How Shiny works

Support Types E-Mail

Everything takes place on the website at Shiny.com, as there’s no mobile application. I’m not sure if they plan to launch an app in future – I’ll update my review if they ever do – but you can already register using any device. This includes smartphones and tablets, since the responsive website is designed with mobile-first principles.

Shiny is primarily a cryptocurrency-based platform, so all transactions take place in USD Coin (USDC). If you’re not familiar with crypto, don’t worry – Shiny makes everything easy. You can use debit cards and bank transfers to buy USDC, for example. Also, USDC is a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, so there’s no need to stress about exchange rates.

Buying and ripping

Use the “Packs” link in the main menu to browse what’s for sale, then click a pack to learn more about it. You’ll see a detailed breakdown of the possible hits – the cards you could potentially pull from that pack – and their respective probabilities.

Remember, every pack contains just one officially graded card. That’s quite standard, though some sites like Packly now sell multiple cards per pack. You can, at least, buy multiple packs at the same time – up to 10, in fact.

When you’re happy with your choice, make the purchase and watch a short animation that reveals your pull. Click “send to vault” to keep it securely stored until you decide what to do with it.

In the Vault

When you’re done with the big reveal, and the card is placed in your vault, you have three options:

  • Ship. Any cards you wish to keep can be sent to your address. Click “Redemptions” from within your vault to choose a destination. You cover the costs.
  • Sell. Don’t like your pull? Want to sell old rips? Use the “Pawnshop” to get 90% of the card’s fair market value instantly, minus a 1.8% sales charge.
  • Store. Not sure what to do? No sweat – Shiny partners with Alt to keep your slabs in secure storage until you decide whether to ship or sell them.

Marketplace

There is a secondary element to the Shiny website – the Marketplace. Here, you can list specific cards for sale at whatever price you like. You can also buy cards this way. There’s no mystery to the marketplace, either – everyone knows exactly what they’re purchasing.

Don’t like the list price? Make the seller an offer and give them a fixed amount of time (between 24 hours and 30 days) to think about it.

How to pay

As I mentioned earlier in my review, Shiny uses USDC across the platform. You’ll need to fund your account wallet in one of three ways:

  • Receive funds. Send USDC directly from an address of your own with no middleman.
  • Wallet transfer. Connect a third-party cryptocurrency wallet, like Coinbase or MetaMask.
  • Pay with a card. Thanks to a Coinbase integration, you can buy USDC via card, bank wire or Google Pay.

What can you actually buy at Shiny?

Whether you’re buying mystery packs or browsing the marketplace, you’ll only find Pokémon and One Piece on sale. I don’t expect Shiny to introduce sports cards any time soon, but it’s possible they could open the platform to other games, such as Yu-Gi-Oh!

In the meantime, the table below summarises the current situation:

Pack TypePrice Points
Pokémon$15, $25, $50, $100, $250
One Piece$100
PromotionVaries

As you can see, the focus is predominantly Pokémon, with a range of price points to suit all budgets. The “Promotion” section highlights limited-time packs for sale, but you can also build your own custom set.

Buying a cheaper pack means you’re more likely to find common cards inside – but it’s not impossible you’ll pull something valuable. For example, here’s a breakdown of the $15 Pokémon Beginner Pack:

  • Shiny – 0.5%
  • Platinum – 3%
  • Gold – 21.5%
  • Silver – 15%
  • Bronze – 60%

Do you get a welcome bonus at Shiny?

You certainly do – if you complete the demo immediately after signing up, you’ll receive a 5% discount voucher on your first purchase. There are definitely better offers out there, but I wouldn’t turn my nose up at a $12.50 saving on a $250 Pokémon rip, or $5 off a One Piece pack.

That’s not the only Shiny bonus, either – there’s a daily login reward, for instance. You can also collect ongoing bonuses by referring friends and completing simple daily tasks. Shiny also has a 100-tier loyalty program, which is a seemingly endless source of discount vouchers.

What are Battles?

Battles are a different, more exciting way to open mystery packs. It’s player-versus-player. Every contestant opens one card per round, from the same preset Battle pack, and whoever has the highest-value pull per round keeps all of the contents.

Battle TypePrice Per RoundShiny OddsPlayersRounds
Sail To Kanto$300.5%2 to 41 to 10
Battle Pro Pack$500.5%2 to 41 to 10
Shiny Hunter$991%2 to 41 to 10
Battle Legend Pack$2000.5%2 to 41 to 10

You can build your own Battle – with up to ten rounds, for two, three or four players – or join an existing contest. Shiny Battles also have a cool Evolution mechanic that you won’t find at other platforms.

Ready to join Shiny?

Here’s how to open your new account. Remember, Shiny doesn’t have an app, so all of this happens in your browser, whether on mobile or desktop.

  1. Visit the Shiny homepage – click a link on this page

  2. Tap “Sign In / Create Account” at the bottom of the main menu

  3. Use Google, Abstract or an email address to join

  4. Enter the confirmation code sent to your email inbox

  5. You’ll now be logged into your new account automatically

I strongly recommend you accept the site tour offered to you at this point. Not only is it genuinely useful, especially if you’re new to these platforms, but it’s how you unlock the 5% first-purchase discount.

Need support?

Shiny doesn’t have an email address or a telephone number. If you need to get in touch, click the speech bubble icon and leave a message. You’ll almost certainly get a reply within 24 hours – last time I messaged them, it took less than two hours.

Problem with your registration? Join the Discord server and ask for assistance in #general, as the chat widget only works if you’re logged into your account. It’s also worth checking the #known-issues channel, in case there’s a server problem that’s already being worked on.

Shiny is a great choice for crypto and Pokémon enthusiasts

When I signed up, I half expected Shiny to just be like any other Pokémon mystery pack site. However, my biggest takeaway is that it’s really for fans of cryptocurrency, as well as Pokémon.

You can still use traditional payment methods to rip packs – but only if you already have a Coinbase account. And most of the discussion in the Discord server is about how the platform is moving its infrastructure to the Solana blockchain.

Still, if you’re a crypto enthusiast – or at least prepared to get to grips with it – Shiny is a solid option. The pricing is intelligent, with packs catering to all budgets, and the card variety is good. Its bonuses are rewarding, and the platform’s provably fair nature is perhaps its biggest selling point.
