Wanderluck puts an interesting spin on the mystery box concept, aiming to fill what it believes is a gap in the market. While other platforms sell and deliver sneakers, electronics and other trendy goods, this one focuses exclusively on travel.
As a keen adventurer, writing a Wanderluck review seemed like a great idea – and it was. Although I’ve not used the site for long, I’ve loved the experience so far. There are boxes available for all budgets, as you’ll discover shortly, containing premium experiences and useful travel gadgets alike. The platform is secure, easy to use, and totally unique.

Wanderluck claims to be a “travel company first and a mystery box site second”. The idea is simple – you purchase cases of unknown goods and, whatever’s inside, that’s yours to keep. You’re not shopping completely blind, though, as you’ll see a list of potential contents, alongside their respective probabilities.
There’s no app here – everything is browser-based. But you can still use a smartphone or tablet to join, browse and purchase cases, as the website has a responsive, mobile-first design. It detects what device you’re using and automatically rearranges the display for optimal performance.
When I say you “purchase” cases, I don’t mean directly. Instead of exchanging US dollars for mystery boxes, you shop using a virtual currency called Coins.
These are acquired through bonuses, by taking part in Battles, or you can just buy a Coin package to top up your balance. In other words, Wanderluck is a bit like sweepstakes casino platforms, where you play with virtual currencies instead of cash.
There are hundreds of cases for sale, with price points to suit everyone. Naturally, the most affordable boxes contain lower-value items, and the pricier cases are where you’ll find the premium travel experiences and high-end goods.
I’ve highlighted a few example boxes in the table below, but this is by no means an exhaustive list. As I said, there are literally hundreds of boxes for purchase.

No. Most cases feature a trip as the headline prize, but not all. The Micro and Starter boxes, for example, usually contain gift cards as the top prize, with useful items like luggage locks, passport covers and travel adaptors as secondary rewards.
At the time of writing this Wanderluck review, the cheapest box cost just 1.60 Coins – the equivalent of 16 cents in real money. The top prize in that particular case is a travel gift card for $32, but other items include make-up sets, a Mattel action figure kids toy, and a variety of Coins rewards.
On the other hand, the most valuable box offers a round-the-world tour by private jet, with smaller prizes like Rolex watches, digital cameras and headphones also potentially inside.
Mystery boxes are purchased with the aforementioned virtual currency called Coins, not cash. However, if you’re running low on Coins, you can visit the on-site store to buy some more. Packages cost between $1.99 and $999.99, so there’s really something for everyone.

You can buy Coins using any major credit or debit card, including Visa, American Express and Mastercard, as well as Apple Pay.
Any physical goods pulled from a mystery box will be stored securely until you choose to have them shipped. However, before you can redeem a prize, make sure you’ve completed the KYC verification process.
After verifying, go to your profile page and scroll to the “My items” section. Here, you can view your entire inventory, filtering all of your pulls by value if required. To begin the redemption process, click the goods you want to ship. Fees vary depending on the size of the item and your location.
Coins cannot be redeemed for cash, by the way. If you pull Coins from a mystery box, they’re instantly paid to your balance. They can only be used to buy more cases or deals.
Wanderluck gives you access to a dedicated travel concierge, should you successfully pull and redeem a trip. They will plan everything from start to finish – with your input, of course – as well as arranging any visas you might need.
They can also prepare travel insurance, though this is an optional extra that costs money. Passports, though, are entirely on you. If you don’t have at least six months left on your current document, don’t buy a mystery box that might have a trip inside!

If you’ve used mystery box sites before, you’ll already be familiar with these concepts, as they’re hardly unique. But let’s take a closer look anyway.
When I compiled this guide, the page still showed a “Coming Soon” message.
Although full details have yet to be released, I’d imagine these mystery box battles work the same way as other, similar platforms. Everyone joins and opens their box at the same time. Whichever player pulled the most valuable individual item then gets to keep all of the contents.
This is just a different way to shop. It’s equally exciting, but for different reasons. Browse a list of goods and their prices, then use the slider to set a bid of between 10% and 80% of the listed value.
These are individual items, not mystery boxes, so you know exactly what you’re bidding for. But here, you’re playing a game, and the more you bid, the greater the chance of success. If you win, the item is yours, but you only pay the amount bid.
Of course, should you lose, the bid is deducted from your balance, and you’ll have nothing to show for it.

As far as I can tell, yes. The site is new, which is why there aren’t really any Wanderluck reviews on sites like Trustpilot. But I did a bit of digging and found a registered address in New Jersey for Wanderluck LLC, the parent company.
Box opening outcomes are determined randomly using a provably fair algorithm that anyone can recreate and verify. As I mentioned, all of the probabilities are clearly shown, so everything’s nice and transparent.
Finally, Wanderluck doesn’t store your sensitive payment details on its servers. It works with reputable processors like Stripe and Paysafe, whose encryption protocols comply with the latest PCI Data Security Standard.
The only thing I saw that was a bit unusual was the 21+ notice on the registration page. If you read the terms, it says you must be 18 years old to join, or the age of majority in your state, whichever is higher.
