Ripit is a collectible site that features digital mystery packs. You purchase and open the packs to reveal real, physical graded trading cards called slabs. In this Ripit review, I’ll show you precisely how to use the platform.

You can join Ripit if you’re interested in Pokémon, basketball, baseball, and football trading cards. After ripping a pack, you can retain the slab in the vault or ship it to your location. Alternatively, you can sell the trading card back if you don’t want to keep it. Continue reading as I explain more about using Ripit.

Once I signed up with Ripit, I found that it’s different from the average digital mystery box site. The site features packs with physical collectibles rather than gadgets or luxury items. Nevertheless, the functionality is the same.

If you join Ripit, you can buy and open packs containing random graded cards. From what I saw, Ripit packs have different price points with featured collectibles showing potential rips. Also, there’s a collector pull rate that indicates probabilities of each card rank.

What Can You Rip on Ripit?

Ripit currently focuses on a small but popular selection of trading card categories. Here are the slab types I found on the site:

Product TypeAvailableSelection
Sports CardsMLB, NBA, NFL
Pokémon CardsModern & vintage
Magic Cards
One Piece
Singles
Booster Boxes
Cases

As such, you can get graded cards from the Japanese media franchise and three of the Big Four sports in the US. Most of the best mystery boxes for collectibles I’ve tested feature similar categories.

Pack tiers

In the Ripit library, I spotted packs priced from $25 to $1,000, and these are the main tiers I saw:

  1. Starter Pack: $25
  2. Great Pack: $50
  3. Super Pack: $100
  4. Alpha Pack: $250
  5. Pyro Pack: $250
  6. Ultra Pack: $500
  7. Master Pack: $1,000

At the time of my review, the Pokémon category featured all the above tiers. Baseball had Starter, Great, and Super Packs, while basketball and football had just Starter Packs. That said, Ripit can update its inventory at any time and also restock when slabs are sold out.

Furthermore, the platform can release specialty packs. For instance, I found an America 250 Pack for $250, celebrating the country’s 250th anniversary.

Collector pull rate

The available Ripit rips are grouped into three collector categories with estimated probabilities: Heat, Elite, and Mega. I commend this because it provides an idea of what to expect before opening a pack.

To illustrate, these are the rates I saw for the Baseball Super Pack:

TypePull rate (Probability)
Heat50%
Elite47.5%
Mega2.5%

As the table shows, Heat cards make up half of all pulls, while Elite accounts for almost the other half. The rarest card type is Mega, with an estimated probability of just 2.5%.

What Can You Do With Your Cards?

Ways to Make the Most of Your Cards

Each slab you pull from a mystery pack goes to the Ripit vault. Then, you can choose to hold it in the vault, sell it back, or ship it to your location. Based on my findings, Ripit’s vault was verified by Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), so it’s secure. Ripit doesn’t charge any extra fees for storing your slabs in the vault.

Selling cards

Within 24 hours of opening a Ripit pack, you can sell the card back at the featured offer amount shown on the site. I sold a couple of slabs during my Ripit reviews. From my observations, the sellback offer is based on the card’s fair market value (FMV).

If you don’t sell within 24 hours, the sellback offer from Ripit expires. Now, you have to submit an offer to the platform if you still want to sell. Ripit will review your request and either approve or decline to buy.

Conversely, if you don’t sell your card after 24 hours, Ripit can also send you an offer to buy. In this case, you can then choose to accept, decline, or propose a counter price.

Shipping cards

In my opinion, Ripit has one of the best shipping processes I’ve encountered. I say so because the platform lets you ship up to 19 slabs for the same price. Also, the shipping time is within 14 business days (two weeks), which is reasonable. Only top digital mystery pack and vintage card break sites offer such terms.

Ripit uses FedEx, so you can track your delivery once you submit your shipping request. If your slabs arrive in poor or damaged condition, you can contact Ripit support with proof for a resolution.

Payment Methods

At Ripit, you purchase packs through Stripe, the platform’s exclusive payment partner. From my checks, Stripe mainly supports credit/debit cards. Therefore, you can pay using Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. That said, the exact options may vary depending on your location and device.

Regarding payouts, the process isn’t complicated. When you open Ripit packs and sell back the cards, the funds you receive are withdrawable. Since the payment is via Stripe, you can cash out to your bank account.

Bonuses and Promotions

Ripit doesn’t currently offer a welcome bonus to new collectors after signing up. I searched the platform but found no Ripit promo code to activate an offer. The brand needs to improve in this area because some competing sites give new users a free pack or a 100% buyback promo.

However, Ripit does feature some promotional offers from time to time. These are what I saw on the site:

Referral leaderboards

To promote its launch, Ripit introduced leaderboards for collectors. You simply participate by opting in and inviting others to sign up via your link. The more people you refer, the higher your rank on the leaderboard. Then, at the end of the promotion, top-ranked users receive rewards, such as special and valuable cards.

I observed that Ripit runs the referral leaderboards for limited periods. Therefore, you’ll have to check when you register whether there’s an active one to join.

Giveaways

If you follow Ripit on social media, you can benefit from the site’s giveaways. In my experience, these giveaways can happen at random or whenever the brand is celebrating a milestone. The main platforms where they happen are Instagram, TikTok, and Whatnot.

Overall Experience at Ripit

If you’re a new collector on Ripit, you won’t find the site difficult to use. From my experience, the brand went with a minimalist design, featuring plenty of white space and a clean layout. The color scheme is limited, as you only see touches of red and blue in a few places. If anything, the cards themselves are what add most of the color to the interface.

Speaking of cards, Ripit arranges them in different categories. You have Pokémon first, followed by Baseball, Basketball, and Football. Their different slabs have a ‘View Pack’ button, which you can click on to see the featured collectibles.

In each mystery pack, you’ll see the collector pull rate for the Mega, Elite, and Heat tiers. After them is a rundown of the potential cards and their estimated probabilities. I appreciate Ripit for being transparent with the details before you hit the ‘Rip Now’ button.

Ripit on mobile

I didn’t find a Ripit iOS or Android app at the time of my review. The absence is a downside, but some other digital mystery pack and online card break sites I’ve tested also don’t have one. Besides, Ripit is still smooth to use on mobile devices.

Browsing the Ripit mobile site was simple for me since it adjusts well to different screen sizes. The menus, buttons, and card images are also responsive, making them easy to select. Plus, I found the text relatively larger and more comfortable to read on my smartphone.

Customer service

On the Ripit website, I saw live chat and email customer service options. However, the performance was below my expectations. First, the live chat functions as a ticket system instead of a real-time communication channel.

When I sent a message, I got this reply from an AI agent: Your ticket has been successfully submitted. You may close this chat window. Then, I received an email confirming the same thing, while the actual response to my question came in hours later. The situation was the same with my email message.

I believe Ripit will upgrade its customer service over time, especially since the live chat already has an AI agent. If you register, you can still rely on the ticket and email support. There’s also an FAQ section with helpful answers to some common questions.

Is Ripit Safe and Legit?

Can You Trust Ripit?

I rate Ripit as a legit digital mystery pack site because its cards are professionally graded, mainly by the PSA. For context, PSA has been grading cards since 1991. Cards authenticated by the company usually sell for higher prices than the same ones graded by other companies.

Another reason I trust Ripit to be legit is that it’s a US-based brand. The digital mystery pack site is owned and operated by Ripit LLC, a company registered in Delaware with a business address in California. Also, Ripit is co-founded by Logan Paul, the popular influencer.

Know Your Customer (KYC) at Ripit

Ripit is only open to US collectors who are at least 18 years old. As a result, you have to verify your identity, age, and address before opening any pack on the site. The platform uses Stripe for verification, so the process is automated and quick.

While making this review, I verified my account within 15 minutes by uploading my driver’s license. You can use the same document or submit your passport. Stripe will ask for additional supporting documents if your details don’t match what’s on your ID.

Safety features

The Ripit website uses SSL for encryption, so your data is protected against third parties. During verification and payments, the platform doesn’t store your information, as Stripe securely handles everything. Plus, as I mentioned earlier, Ripit uses a PSA vault for storing your ripped slabs. All of this supports the fact that Ripit is legit and safe.

Conclusion – Ripit has a lot to offer

Ripit isn’t a digital mystery pack platform that needs a long learning curve. The site is simple to use: buy a pack, open it, and receive your slab. You can then decide whether to keep, sell, or ship your card.

Making payments on Ripit is convenient thanks to the Stripe integration. If you decide to store your card, it’s kept in a safe vault. When you want to ship, the delivery time of within 14 business days means you won’t wait for too long.

As I noted in this Ripit review, the platform isn’t perfect. It can improve by offering an app, welcome bonus, and real-time live chat support. If you can manage these drawbacks, then you can consider Ripit for PSA-graded Pokémon and sports cards. You can use the banners on this page to visit Ripit today.
