I recently conducted a Vaultr review because I wanted another place to open Pokémon packs without buying sealed boxes. As it turns out, Vaultr is a card-breaking site where you purchase and rip Pokémon mystery packs to reveal what’s inside.

If you like what you pulled, you can have it shipped to you. Otherwise, you can sell it back to the site for 90% to 92% of the market value. When I signed up, I claimed the “deposit $50 and get a free $25 starter pack” welcome bonus. You’ll get details of how Vaultr works as you read on.

About Vaultr

Vaultr is a mystery box site where you rip boxes to reveal cards. I actually found it quite easy to get the hang of how the site works. You’ll be able to purchase and rip Pokémon mystery packs. After that, you decide what to do with whatever the card reveals. You have three options: ship the item to your address, vault it on the site’s secure facility, or sell it back if you don’t like it. I’ll provide more details about these options in subsequent sections.

One aspect I like about Vaultr is how easy it is to rip and reveal cards. I don’t have to wait days to see what I got. As soon as a pack shows the card, I can decide what to do with it right away.

Keep in mind that Vaultr doesn’t use digital trading cards. Only physical graded Pokémon cards are available.

What Can You Rip on Vaultr?

The main focus of Vaultr is Pokémon mystery packs. I’ll provide more details below:

Available card categories

At the time of my Vaultr review, I discovered it mainly focuses on Pokémon. I didn’t find an option to rip sports cards, Magic, or Yu-Gi-Oh!. The good thing is that the Pokémon mystery pack pool comes in different categories and eras. I found the following:

  • Modern Eras: These options include English cards released most recently in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Some of the items I saw here include special illustrations, Charizards, and Alternate Arts.
  • Japanese Modern: For this category, I found premium cards printed in Japan. The options here include Shiny Treasure ex and other sharp, early release prints.
  • Vintage Classics: This category takes me back to the earliest days of the game. It has cards from sets like Base Set, Jungle, and Fossil, which still get long-time Pokémon collectors talking for years.

Manufacturers

I can confirm that all the cards at Vaultr are official and authentic products from The Pokémon Company. Top authorities, including the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), check, seal, and grade every physical card before it ships.

Product types and pricing

The main product at Vaultr is a digital-to-physical mystery pack with one graded card. I found six different pricing tiers, including the following:

  • STARTER Pack: Entry-level tier priced at $25.
  • PRO Pack: Mid-tier option priced at $50.
  • MASTER Pack: High-roller choice priced at $100.
  • GRAIL Pack: Ultra-rare vintage/modern tier priced at $500.
  • LEGEND Pack: Collector-class premium tier priced at $1,000.
  • MYTHIC Pack: Top-of-the-vault tier priced at $2,500.

Mechanics

Before you purchase a card, you get to view the live card pool to see what modern or vintage slabs are available to pull. Now, once you buy a pack, you’ll instantly see an animation showing the exact graded card you pulled. It goes straight to your inventory where you can choose to vault, ship, or sell it back.

In a nutshell, here’s the product type you’ll find at Vaultr:

What Can You Do With Your Cards?

Like I said earlier, once you rip your Vaultr packs, you have three choices to make: vault, ship, or offer. Now, keep in mind that you’ll see the value of the card so you know what you’re working with. That said, I’ll explain the three options below:

🔒 Vault

I can decide to store my card safely in the Vaultr safe physical facility. It’s great because I can keep stacking up more and ship them all at once instead of paying fees every single time. Also, if I want to hold on to a card for a while before selling it later, I can save it at the vault.

📦 Ship

If I land a really good card that I like to keep or add to my collection, I can have Vaultr ship it to me. The site will send me the physical, graded slab directly to my doorstep. As expected, it requires paying standard shipping and handling fees at checkout.

💰 Offer

There are times I’ve pulled cards that I don’t like, so this option lets me sell them back to Vaultr for cash or store credit. Based on my experience, the site will give you an instant buyback based on the card’s current market value. You’ll usually be able to sell at 90% to 92% of the value, and it can get higher as you increase your User Rank.

Payment Methods

Vaultr accepts Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and crypto via Coinflow for making payments.

When I wanted to purchase Vaultr packs, I logged into my account, went straight to the cashier, and selected “Deposit.” Then, I entered the amount I wanted, selected a preferred payment method, and completed the process. From my experience, deposits with most methods are often instant, and there are also no fees.

Now, you only get payouts when you use the Offer (Instant Buyout) feature. So, after pulling a card you don’t want, you sell it back to the site, and you’ll get the funds in your withdrawable balance. You can then submit a request to withdraw directly to your account using the supported methods.

Withdrawal times usually depend on the payment method. Cryptocurrencies can take up to 24 hours, depending on the coin and blockchain network. Meanwhile, traditional bank options can take up to 5 business days.

Bonuses and Promotions

I rate Vaultr as one of the best mystery box sites because it has a handful of bonuses. New signups can claim a welcome bonus, and there are also promotions for returning collectors. I’ve explained them below:

Welcome bonus

Vaultr welcomes new collectors with a sign-up bonus of a free $25 starter pack. I qualified for this bonus after signing up and depositing $50. Note that I also had to enter the Vaultr promo code provided in the bonus terms to qualify.

After claiming the welcome bonus, I used it for my Vaultr rips to reveal cards. My first pull gave me 2025 Pokémon SVP Black Star Promo Tornadus White Flare from the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, graded PSA 9. It had a market value of $18.50. I could see the card’s grade, population count, and value right on the screen. So, I decided to vault it because I wanted to try a few more pulls before paying for shipping.

Trainer Rank Program

I found a loyalty program at Vaultr known as the Trainer Rank Program. It gives you rewards the more you use the site. You’ll get XP each time you purchase, rip, or sell back Pokémon mystery packs. It has six tiers, including the following:

  • Rookie
  • Starter
  • Ace
  • Elite
  • Champion
  • Master

I started from the Rookie level after signing up at Vaultr. From there, I started racking up XP to climb the ranks.

Members of the Trainer Rank Program enjoy various perks and rewards. These include daily streak rewards, weekly challenges, and higher buyback percentages.

Overall Experience

When I first visited the Vaultr website, I felt right at home because it’s simple to use and clutter-free. The dark background is easy on the eyes, especially when scrolling in the evening. I also saw rotating banners showing the ongoing promotions.

Finding your way around the site is effortless with the main menu tab. It gives you access to different aspects, including packs, vault, how it works, and account management options. On the homepage, you’ll find the available mystery packs to choose from and a Just Pulled section showing the latest cards other collectors just revealed.

Throughout my Vaultr review, watching each reveal got me most excited. The card breaks got me anticipating what Pokémon card would turn up next.

I didn’t find any native Vaultr app during my review. So, I had to use just the mobile website, and it did an excellent job. I even found the option to add the site as a shortcut to my home screen for one-tap access.

When I wanted to reach out to support, the options I found were email and a contact form. No live chat support at the moment. There’s also an FAQ page that can help you quickly get the hang of how the site works.

Joining Vaultr only takes a few easy steps

If you’re still new, it’s quite easy to register at Vaultr. Here are the steps I took:

Is Vaultr Safe and Legit?

Yes, I can confirm that Vaultr is a legit card breaking site. Firstly, the physical cards are authentic and pre-graded by trusted authorities like PSA, BGS, and CGC. Plus, the slabs are tamper-proof, which helps keep counterfeit cards to a minimum.

I like that the site uses blockchain technology to ensure the result can’t be altered after ripping the Vaultr packs. Every rip is determined by a random number generator that cannot be changed. These help to maintain transparency.

Finally, the site uses industry-standard encryption tools to protect your data and transactions. As such, no one can access your account without your permission.

Conclusion – Rip Pokémon mystery packs at Vaultr

Vaultr is still a new card-breaking site, but it’s pretty easy to understand how it works, as you’ve seen in this guide. The whole idea is to purchase and rip Pokémon mystery packs. If you like the card it pulls, you can vault it or have the site ship it directly to your doorstep. But if you don’t like the item, you can sell it back to the site for 90% to 92% of the market value.

I like that Vaultr offers bonuses for collectors. When you sign up, you can claim a welcome bonus of a free $25 starter pack after depositing $50. There’s also a loyalty program known as the Trainer Rank Program, offering various perks to members.

All in all, anyone who likes collecting modern and vintage Pokémon cards will probably like having a site like Vaultr. To get started, tap the banners on this page to visit the official website, register, and deposit to start ripping boxes.
