Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports Nick Bjugstad scored with 21 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Arizona Coyotes to 4-3 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night in Tempe, Ariz.
Bjugstad knocked in his own rebound shortly after a Coyotes power play expired.
Connor Ingram made 28 saves for Arizona, which has its first three-game winning streak of the season. The Coyotes' Michael Carcone scored his third goal in his past two games, and Travis Boyd and Nick Schmaltz added a goal apiece.
Cole Makar recorded a goal and an assist for the Avalanche, who had won four straight. Miles Wood and Nathan MacKinnon also scored, Mikko Rantanen had two assists, and Alexandar Georgiev stopped 29 shots.
Makar gave the Avalanche a 1-0 lead with 29 seconds left in the first period when he scored on a wrist shot from the point during a power play.
The Coyotes tied it 1-1 at 3:03 of the second period. J.J. Moser's shot from the point was deflected first by Liam O'Brien and then by Boyd before finding its way past Georgiev. It was Boyd's second goal in two games.
Wood got the lead back for Colorado a little over a minute later. He gained control of the puck along the right boards, skated through the slot and slid the puck home just beyond Ingram's right pad at 4:44.
Schmaltz tied the game 2-2 with a power-play goal at 16:22 of the second, scoring on a one-timer from the slot off a feed from Alex Kerfoot behind the end line.
Carcone gave the Coyotes their first lead of the game, 3-2, at 1:08 of the third period. He beat the Colorado defense to a puck in the left corner to stave off an icing call, skated behind Georgiev and scored on a wraparound shot for his 10th goal of the season.
MacKinnon tied the game 3-3 on a power-play goal at 11:04. He converted a one-timer from the left circle off a pass from Makar, who registered 21 assists in 14 games during November.
