No. 8 Michigan State Loses, And The Big Ten Is Fucked
No. 14 Ohio State earned a measure of revenge tonight, going on the road to beat No. 8 Michigan State. The Spartans toppled the Buckeyes in last year's Big Ten championship game, taking away a Rose Bowl or national championship appearance for Urban Meyer.
Tonight, the Buckeyes proved to be the better team, especially pouring it on in the second half. Freshman quarterback J.T. Barrett played the game of his life, throwing for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns, and rushing for two more.
The win puts the Big Ten in a bind when it comes to the playoff. With multiple top-10 teams losing today, the Spartans were the conference's best bet to steal a top-four ranking and a spot in the playoff. It's hard to imagine Ohio State making into the top-four, with their loss to Virginia Tech, and not many more opportunities for big wins.
Surely, the Big Ten will find a way to whine about not having a team make the playoff, continuing to ignore the perpetual shittiness of the teams on the field.
