Leonard has moved to 16 career SCOOP titles, overtaking Simon Mattsson and Jerry Odeen on the all-time leaderboard
Two of those wins came in 8-Game events just a few minutes apart on March 22
The two victories were his fourth and fifth titles of SCOOP 2026
Patrick Leonard has rewritten the PokerStars SCOOP record books by claiming two 8-Game titles in under 10 minutes to become the all-time Spring Championship of Online Poker leader with 16 career victories across the festival’s history.
The double came in the Medium and High tiers of SCOOP’s 107th event, both 8-Game tournaments, and it pushed Leonard past Simon Mattsson and Jerry Odeen, who had both been sitting on 14 titles heading into the night.

The back-to-back wins came from the same corner of the SCOOP schedule; here’s how it played out.
Leonard topped a field of 264 players in the Medium tier, taking home $5,088.96 from a $26,400 prize pool. Mixed-game events at this type of buy-in tend to attract a scrappy field of players, and Leonard worked through all eight disciplines to come out on top.
A few minutes later he closed out the High edition as well, beating 68 players to collect a huge $9,176.97 from a $34,000 prize pool. Two final tables running simultaneously, two trophies in a blink, and a record that had stood for the whole of the 2026 series suddenly belonged to him alone.
The context around this record is so much bigger than just another couple of wins on a results page for Leonard. PokerStars published a historical live poker leaderboard article back in January that had Leonard sitting on 10 career SCOOP titles, with Mattsson leading the way on 14. That meant Leonard needed just four titles during SCOOP 2026 to pull level, but closing a four-title gap in a single festival sounded like a stretch by anyone’s standards. The fact that he blew past it just entirely by picking up six titles across a range of different formats and buy-in levels turns what looked like a no-chance chase into one of the most remarkable runs in SCOOP history.

The 8-Game double was the big moment here, but Leonard had already been ticking off wins throughout the 18th edition of the series, which ran from March 1 to March 25, later adding a 16th title.
Before the record-breaking night, Leonard had already won three SCOOP titles during the 2026 series, taking down the $530 6-Max Hyper Sunday Supersonic for $20,396, the $1K PLO8 for $20,551, and the $215 FL 2-7 Triple Draw for $5,569. That spread across hyper turbos, Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, and fixed-limit draw games says a lot about how comfortable he is going between completely different variants in poker.
Leonard hit the all-time record before SCOOP 2026 even ended, so there was a real chance the numbers were going to move again before the series wrapped up, and given the way this festival had gone for him, you wouldn’t have wanted to rule it out. He added that sixth title on the final day, bringing his all-time SCOOP total to 16 and his 2026 series domination to six wins. His combined PokerStars numbers are pretty staggering at this point too, with those 16 SCOOP titles sitting alongside 13 WCOOP titles for 29 Championship of Online Poker victories across the two huge series.
