Key Points
  • The deal allows in-app streaming of ATP Tour events via Polymarket.
  • Polymarket will be able to use Sportradar integrity services for in-game trades.
  • The partnership gives Polymarket a consistent presence at high profile men’s tennis events.

Polymarket announced on Monday that it has become the official prediction market provider for the ATP Tour, giving the exchange a consistent presence at events including the Cincinnati Open, Indian Wells, the Miami Open, and the Nitto ATP Finals.

According to the official press release, the deal goes through ATP Tour subsidiary Tennis Data Innovations (TDI). This will allow Polymarket to leverage integrity monitoring from TDI’s distribution partner, Sportradar, to enable in-game trading during ATP Tour events.

Official statements on Polymarket exclusive streaming rights

Representatives from Polymarket and TDI were quoted within the joint statement that was published on Monday. “Tennis is a natural fit for prediction markets, with momentum shifting point by point and every match creating opportunities for expectations to change in real time,” stated Polymarket’s President of Sports Business Development Ari Borod.

“By combining live ATP streaming with official data and prediction markets in one place, we’re creating a more dynamic product allowing fans to experience and trade on markets relating to the game as it unfolds. We’re excited to work with TDI and Sportradar to introduce this new experience across the Tour, while working closely with tennis governing bodies to help protect the integrity of the sport.”

TDI CEO David Lampitt added that “the way people follow and engage with sports continues to evolve, and we want tennis to be at the forefront of that change. Polymarket has emerged as a leader in its category, and we’re excited to welcome them as the Official Prediction Market Provider of the ATP Tour and give fans another way to connect with the sport throughout the season.”

Polymarket user interface changes for ATP Tour events

From a customer perspective, the most important facet of the partnership is the fact that Polymarket traders will now be able to shop related markets while streaming ATP Tour action in real time through a new in-app feature. The anticipated rework of the Polymarket user interface is likely to be a welcome addition for tennis fans who follow sports-based prediction markets.

The deal could also pave the way for additional “streaming rights” partnerships as prediction exchanges seek ways to retain the attention of their traders instead of the natural alternative: having customers flock to sportsbook apps that stream the most popular games.

Upcoming ATP Tour calendar events

The next high profile ATP Tour event is scheduled to begin this weekend with the Cincinnati Open at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. This November, the Nitto ATP Finals will take place at Inalpi Arena in Italy, an indoor facility that brings a unique atmosphere to men’s hard-court tennis. The next iterations of Indian Wells and the Miami Open are set for next March.

If Polymarket is able to adapt its in-app features quickly, traders could begin seeing in-game options alongside a live streaming module once the Cincinnati Open begins in a few days.
