Tomorrow is a big day for Republican primary voters across the state of Georgia, as the run-off election for the next governor between Burt Jones and Rick Jackson takes center stage. On its surface, the election pits the executive experience and knowledge of Jones against the fierce campaign spending of billionaire and political newcomer Rick Jackson.

But at the core of the trading activity that Kalshi prediction market traders are participating in is the heavyweight endorsements the current Lieutenant Governor, Burt Jones, has received. Jones is supported by both outgoing governor Brian Kemp and President Donald Trump. Jackson has much of the state’s media behind him (perhaps due to nearly $100 million in ad buys, but will that be enough?)

2026 Georgia Republican Primary Governor’s Race Picks

As we’ve repeated in our recent political election predictions, an endorsement from Donald Trump is as close to a “sure fire” win in Republican primary elections. For Republican primary voters, support from the 45th and 47th president overrides any other variables that might make their way into traditional primary run-offs.

So far this year, Trump has unseated three existing congressional members (Tom Massie of Kentucky, John Cornyn of Texas, and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana) by putting his full weight behind those incumbents’ primary opponents. This time, the “institution” candidate just so happens to have Trump’s backing in Georgia, so we’re agreeing with Kalshi traders and taking the “yes” on Burt Jones to win the GA Republican bid for governor at 73 cents per contract.

2026 Georgia Republican Primary for Governor Latest News

Billionaire Rick Jackson has spent close to $100 million on his own campaign for governor, and might not even come close to receiving half the vote tomorrow. The perceived “closer race for GA governor” won’t occur until November, when tomorrow’s Republican primary winner will face off against Democratic nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms, who secured her place on the general ballot last month.

Trump’s 2026 midterm endorsements of Republican candidates has yet to be tested on the general election level, but it’s gone 3-for-3 in knocking high profile Republican incumbents out of their congressional seats in the primaries. In fact, the president’s support is perceived to be so vital that even candidates who may have disagreed with Trump in the past have “fallen all over themselves” to rekindle their once staunch alignment with the former TV show host.

2026 Georgia Republican Primary for Governor Market Movement

The Kalshi trading market for the 2026 Georgia Republican primary winner for governor moved the moment Trump endorsed Burt Jones. The sitting Lieutenant Governor had a contract price below 50 cents until that moment.

Look for Jones to win by a comfortable margin when Republican voters head to the polls tomorrow. Georgia election laws allow Democrats to vote in Republican primary elections too, but that won’t favor Rick Jackson due to the Democrat Party’s desire to go directly against Trump’s most prominent allies in November.

As for the general election for Georgia governor in November, many pundits are calling that race a “toss-up.” Keisha Lance Bottoms will be on the ballot and will go against either Jackson or our favorite pick, Burt Jones.
