The nation’s most popular CFTC-regulated prediction market platform, Kalshi, is rapidly adding new design features and markets to maintain its edge over an increasingly crowded industry. The enhancements will likely receive widespread approval from traders who frequently review and forecast each market type.
Earlier this week, Kalshi went live with 15-minute markets for gold and silver, a move predicated on the massive popularity of similar crypto-trading markets.
Our look into the gold and silver 15-minute markets on early Wednesday showed impressive graphics that update precious metal prices on a second-by-second basis. The result is a current price line that appears to “weave” up and down as the countdown clock approaches zero.
On the left-hand side of the module, the “Price to Beat” for the corresponding 15-minute period is displayed to the exact cent while the “end” time is located immediately below that price. To the immediate right, traders will find the exact “Now” price, which includes plus or minus statistics for both value and percentage.
One final touch is that each live graph contains either a gold or silver line, depending on the precious metal that’s being tracked.
Kalshi’s new Public Companies Hub allows users to track the latest news, earnings reports, and IPO launches for various public companies all in one place.
The user interface for the hub, which launched approximately 24 hours ago, displays public company earnings calls that are organized by date. When hovering over a specific company, Kalshi account holders can choose to view that company’s current markets.
For now, the default “earnings call date” view appears to be the only option available. However, Kalshi may add other toggles that allow premium customers to customize the hub’s appearance by listing companies in alphabetical order or by displaying markets by trading volume.
The Public Companies Hub is a separate webpage, but is similar to the Politics Hub that Kalshi launched earlier this year.
The CFTC-regulated prediction market space is becoming crowded, with the recent launches of Underdog and Novig adding to a competitive field that includes Kalshi, Robinhood, Polymarket’s domestic wing, and ForecastEx. Traditional, state-licensed sportsbook apps such as DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics have also moved into prediction markets, although they are not currently regulated on a federal level.
This reality is forcing prediction market platforms to enhance their user interfaces, add new markets that are experiencing a growth in popularity, and launch new features to attract premium membership subscribers.
The Kalshi Pro service, for example, allows members to tile individual markets into one or more available slots to keep a close eye on various markets without having to switch tabs. For traders of perpetual markets, the Pro module provides more data integration along with customizable “risk view” screens that enable a trader to buy or sell without having to load a separate page or physically click on a specific market.
