The New York Yankees host the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium tonight in the second game of a four-game series. New York was able to hold off Toronto in the top of the ninth inning on Monday to take an early 1-0 series lead.
The American League East matchup pits two teams against each other who are chasing the first place Rays. The Yankees are 29-19; just three games out of the top spot. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays find themselves behind first place by more than 10 games with less than a third of the season completed.
We like the New York Yankees on Tuesday night. They have the home field advantage as well as momentum heading into the second game of the series. Toronto’s defense is shaky (they committed two errors in their 7-6 loss to New York on Monday), and they gave up three long balls to Yankees hitters yesterday.
Traders using Kalshi for their picks agree with our assessment, with the Yankees win forecast currently priced at 55 cents for each contract. There is some slight downward momentum on the prediction, however. This is most likely due to the Blue Jays’ starter Dylan Cease being scheduled to take the mound Tuesday night.
The action begins at 7:05 Eastern Time. Regardless of which team you believe will win, you can buy prediction contracts on either team by visiting Kalshi. Each winning contact pays out exactly $1, and Kalshi users can buy multiple contracts within a single forecast.
The big news item for Tuesday night is that Dylan Cease brings a season ERA of 2.41. Cease is enjoying his best year since 2022, when he was a member of the Chicago White Sox.
Cease has 75 strikeouts in 2026 with only 21 walks, which is close to a 4-to-1 ratio. The Georgia native has given up only one run over his last 14 innings pitched, and hasn’t allowed a home run since May 2nd against the Twins.
If the Blue Jays can get another 7 innings out of Cease and limit New York to only a couple of runs, Toronto’s bats could wake up late in the game and pull out the victory.
There was significant market movement early Tuesday morning on the totals prediction. Kalshi traders believe the two teams will post more than 8.5 runs combined, as both bullpens have question marks as we near the midway point of the season.
It’s worth noting that forecasters believe that New York isn’t likely to win by two or more runs. This points to predictions revolving around a highly competitive game that won’t be decided until the final inning or two.
You can catch all the action Tuesday night by streaming the game live as your prediction plays out in real time via your favorite prediction market app. If you believe the Yankees will win by at least 2 runs (as we do), the current purchase price for each contract is 40 cents.
