The race for the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series title is still months away but, as things stand, the LA Dodgers and the NY Yankees have emerged as the most likely World Series winners at prediction market Kalshi.
The LA Dodgers are out in front at the moment, but we’ve still got a lot of the regular and postseason to go before we land in the World Series. Let’s take a look at the top contenders at Kalshi:
The LA Dodgers have won the last two World Series titles and are aiming for a third. They’re currently number one in the NL West table, with 22 wins and 13 losses. They have a strong team rotation and a star-studded lineup that should see them go deep into the postseason and World Series. This reflects market sentiment at Kalshi, where the Dodgers currently hold the highest chance of winning the Pro Baseball Championship, at 28%.
The Yankees have strong pitching numbers and seem to be on a bit of a streak recently, having managed 14 wins and only two losses since 19th April.
Number one in the NL East rankings, the Atlanta Braves have a strong offensive setup that can overwhelm other teams. They have 25 wins and 11 losses and, after a shaky period in the middle of April, seem to be finding good form.
The numbers are still pretty wide open for World Series winners. At Kalshi, the Dodgers have the largest market share, but are remaining steady with a 28% chance of winning. Of the ten top teams, only three have a chance of winning above 10%, telling us that there’s still a long way to go before any teams pull ahead of the pack.
It’s too early in the season to make an accurate prediction and markets at Kalshi will be highly volatile for the foreseeable future. But, what these markets do show are the teams which the Kalshi community believe can last through the grinding 162-game season:
The LA Dodgers, as the defending champions, have been at the forefront of this market since it opened. Initially, the Dodgers began with a 68% chance of winning the World Series again but their numbers have steadied to around 30%.
The Braves are currently ranked third most likely to win the World Series at Kalshi, with a 14.8% percentage. This has steadily increased since the beginning of the season, as the Braves built a solid win record. The only question remains whether they have the staying power to see out the season.
The NY Yankees are second at Kalshi at the moment and leaders in the AL East table. A strong recent performance has built their numbers to around 17% at Kalshi.
The regular MLB season began on March 27th and won’t finish until September 27th. We’ve still got a lot of the season to go so it’s too early yet to make a call on possible winners. Factors like injuries and squad depth could have a big impact on a team’s chances as the season-long slog continues.
In Major League Baseball, the gap between winning and losing teams is very small. Mistakes can be costly and the eventual winners tend to be teams who can avoid major slumps, have strong offense and excellent team rotation.
