The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays to win the 2026 World Series on Oct. 28. The Brew Crew took care of business in five games after sweeping the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers. Needless to say, it was one of the most impressive World Series runs in recent memory.

Veteran catcher William Contreras won the 2026 Willie Mays World Series MVP thanks to a terrific series where he went 8-for-21 (.381 BA) at the plate with four RBI. He also made an impact defensively, throwing out four of nine base stealers while winning 10 of 13 appeals under the Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) challenge system.

It was an intriguing World Series between two small-market teams, the Brewers and Rays, so let’s take a closer look at prediction markets apps to review what happened.

World Series game-by-game market breakdown

One thing we can do at the end of the series is take a look at betting volume. Here’s how it broke down at Kalshi:

  • Game 1: $39.68M
  • Game 2: $35.12M
  • Game 3: $20.18M
  • Game 4: $51.37M
  • Game 5: $37.86M

With over $180 million in trading volume, the 2026 World Series was one of the most popular markets at Kalshi.

The biggest takeaway from the game-by-game volume is how low Game 3 was ($20.18M) and how high Game 4 was ($51.37M).

The reason why Game 3 had a series-low in trading activity was that the Brewers won 10-1. Not only that, but Milwaukee had a 10-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th. In other words, the game was already over, so there was little incentive for traders to get involved during the game.

Game 4 had a series-high in trading activity because the game went to extra innings. The Rays came from behind in the bottom of the 12th to win 4-3. Since the game went longer, it gave traders more time to buy and sell their positions.

Brewers vs Rays Latest News

  • Brewers first baseman Jake Bauers, who was a key contributor throughout the playoffs, is a free agent and could be moving on to another team with a big payday after a career year.
  • Rays starting pitcher Freddy Peralta, who was acquired from the Mets at the trade deadline, is also a free agent. It’s likely that he’ll find a new team in 2027.

World Series 2027 Market Movement

When taking a look at MLB prediction markets, we see that there is already a market for 2027 World Series winner. The Brewers are currently second at 12 cents, trailing the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rays come in at 7th at 6.6 cents, reflecting how the market doesn’t believe they can make it back next year, since they’re a small-market team.

With a long offseason to go and a potential labor dispute on the horizon, there’s a lot of moving parts that can affect the prices for 2027 World Series winner in the next couple of months. Currently at only $49.8K in volume, expect there to be more activity here once a potential lockout is avoided.

Expert Pick for World Series 2027

Since we’re so early in the offseason, where a lot of player movement needs to happen, it makes sense to buy-low on a team right now. I’m looking for a longshot trade.

With that in mind, I’m going with the Blue Jays at two cents. They’re only one year removed from making the World Series. The team is expected to be aggressive in free agency, potentially adding a big bat or key pitcher.

If that happens, you’re likely to see their price move from two cents to 4+ cents, giving you a chance to exit your position early after doubling your investment. It’s a great time to buy into the Blue Jays.
