Luka Doncic is off to a spectacular start this year, averaging 36.0 points per game. Austin Reaves (26.5 PPG) and Walker Kessler (15.8 PPG) have helped form a nice trio for this team. It’s clear that they’re adjusting to life without LeBron James quite nicely.
Meanwhile, the Clippers are a rebuilding team after trading Kawhi Leonard in the offseason. New addition Brandon Ingram remains sidelined with a foot injury, leaving the likes of Darius Garland and Rui Hachimura to carry the load. On paper, this is one of the worst teams in the NBA, so we’ll ride with the Lakers to bounce back from a loss on Tuesday. Buy the Lakers to win by five or more here.
When looking at NBA prediction markets, we see that the Lakers were once 63% favorites, but that’s dropped to 61%. This is a minor drop that makes some sense, as the market is reacting to the fact that they’re playing on the second of a back-to-back. But the point spread is only 4.5 points, so that factor appears baked into the price. The Lakers are the better team, so I’m riding with them here.
