As we begin the preseason, there’s been quite a bit of NFL prediction market activity surrounding the eventual NFC East champion. This year, the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to three-peat as the division winner in their quest to capture the franchise’s third Lombardi Trophy.
If you’re already looking into the NFC East market on Kalshi, then you’re most likely concentrating on the Eagles’ 39¢ per-contract price or the Cowboys’ “yes” trade that’s listed at 34¢ on Kalshi. For the most part, we’re here to tell you why the Eagles’ price is justified while the Cowboys’ price isn’t.
Most of the news out of training camp is what you’d expect as a casual observer: “This player is doing well.” “We need to work on that,” and so on. However, there are two major factors playing into the Eagles and Cowboys pricing before the preseason begins.
Philadelphia will have to compete against conference rivals San Francisco and Seattle late in the season with potential playoff implications on the line. The team’s final two regular season games (both scheduled for January 2027) will be played on the road. The Cowboys, on the other hand, will play two of their last three games at home and finish the regular season against divisional cupcakes Washington and New York.
Don’t let that sway your view on Philadelphia’s odds to win the NFC East title three years in a row. All the key parts remain in place. Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley are returning alongside head coach Nick Sirianni. The only major difference will be Marquise “Hollywood” Brown at wide receiver, who will take the place of A.J. Brown (traded to the New England Patriots).
The Dallas Cowboys secondary, with the notable exception of Darren Woodson, has spent the better part of three decades watching the ball go over their heads. Yes, Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Ryan Flournoy are all returning to the Dallas offense this year.
But it doesn’t really matter if your offense scores 28 points per game when your defense allows a league-worst 30 points per game. Each year, the Cowboys exit training camp with a robust depth chart for cornerbacks and safeties. And each year, the Dallas secondary finds a way to negate any offensive prowess the team shows over the course of the regular season.
The Commanders and Giants lack the serious front-office infrastructure to compete with their NFC rivals. Any hopes that bringing in legendary coach John Harbaugh will mend the Giants’ obvious shortcomings that have been shown during Hard Knocks are misplaced, in our view.
Jayden Daniels won the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2024-25, only to be plagued by injuries last season that kept him on the bench for the majority of the regular season. Daniels may shine with a few individual performances this year, but don’t look for his stats to improve much. His tendency to call his own number may also get him into trouble early in the season.
In summary, it’s “fly Eagles fly.” Take the “yes” option for Philadelphia to win its third straight NFC East title and compete for its third NFL championship.
