This weekend the top prediction market apps are hosting trades on a game that most NFL fans believe will be a wipeout in favor of the Los Angeles Rams. Once a preseason favorite to win the Super Bowl, the Rams find themselves at 2-3 on the season and a full three games behind the 49ers in the NFC West division.
A loss to the Cardinals this weekend would place Los Angeles in a last-place tie in the NFC West with an 0-2 division record. It’s “do or die” for the Rams in Week 6 at SoFi Stadium. Fortunately for them, they’re facing the lowly Arizona Cardinals who have lost four straight.
The Rams are 12.5-point favorites to hand Arizona its fifth consecutive regular-season loss this Sunday. Traders who enjoy backing NFL longshots will be thrilled to learn that the Cardinals are trading at just 13¢ per contract to win outright.
The Rams’ chances of making the postseason will take a nosedive if they manage to lose Sunday afternoon’s game at home, which is why we’re going with Los Angeles despite the mediocre payoff for owning a winning contract on the eventual outcome. Trading volume is exceptionally high for this game so far on Kalshi, but that hasn’t put a damper on the 88¢ price for contracts on the Rams to win.
The game is ripe for a blowout scenario, in our opinion. We’re taking the Rams to win by more than 12.5 points once the fourth quarter has concluded. That would get Los Angeles back to 3-3 and, just maybe, put the team back on a path to qualifying for the postseason.
For fans of NFL prediction markets who haven’t heard, the Arizona Cardinals officially “gave up” on wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who has already joined the Houston Texans. At this point, a number of Cardinals believers likely want the team to part ways with Jacoby Brissett, who hasn’t performed well since Week 1. There’s also word that star running back Jeremiyah Love could miss this Sunday’s game entirely due to a lingering ankle injury.
Puka Nacua was back to All-Pro form in the Rams’ 37-34 overtime loss against the Buffalo Bills. He may still be a bit banged up, but that didn’t stop him from catching a career-high 17 passes on Monday Night Football. Los Angeles has also made a move on special teams, signing kicker Blake Grupe while releasing Harrison Mevis, who missed all four of his field goal attempts from more than 40 yards while playing for the Rams this season.
Forecasters who are convinced the Rams will romp on the Cardinals are unlikely to see any significant shifts ahead of kickoff. The ongoing injury to Jeremiyah Love and the departure of former first-round pick Marvin Harrison Jr. paint a bleak picture for Arizona’s chances this Sunday afternoon.
That’s ideal for NFL forecasters who want to trade on a potential Cardinals upset victory. Still, Los Angeles can’t afford to go 2-4 to start the season. This should be a resounding win for the Rams that puts them back on track.
