With NFL prediction markets gaining momentum ahead of the 2026-27 regular season, we’re getting a firmer understanding of which teams are the best picks to win their divisions once Week 1 begins in early September.
Currently, Kalshi traders have Matt Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams listed as a 51% favorite to win the NFC West. The relatively high per-contract price on the Rams’ “yes” option is centered around the potent Los Angeles offense and All-Pro defensive lineman Myles Garrett.
All NFC West teams will play a single regular season game against rivals from the NFC East and AFC West divisions.
Here’s the prediction market breakdown for each NFC West team.
The Rams have returning stars on the offensive side of the ball: Matt Stafford, Davante Adams, and Puka Nacua. Myles Garrett (acquired in a trade with the Browns) is a beast on the defensive line, and the only apparent weakness the Rams have is due to the retirement of offensive lineman Rob Havenstein.
The Rams possess a solid front office, proven talent on both sides of the ball, and an inner-circle fan club that mimics college boosters. Their 51¢ per-contract price to win the NFC West is justified, in our view.
The defending Super Bowl champions shocked many sports fans by defeating the Rams in last year’s NFC Conference Championship. Despite Sam Darnold’s postseason leadership, forecasters on Kalshi are still balking at his 2025-26 NFL passer rating of 92.6.
Wide receiver Cooper Kupp is 33 years old. He will still need to perform at the highest levels for the Seahawks to have any chance of winning the NFC West this year. The team’s per-contract price to win the division is 29¢ on Kalshi.
The 49ers have an extremely talented roster that’s led by quarterback Brock Purdy, running back Christian McCaffrey, and wide receiver Deebo Samuel, but the 49ers defense remains vulnerable to long-yardage passing plays.
San Francisco will need to rely on unexpected star performances from its secondary if it wants to avoid the risk of being outscored. The 49ers won’t have much chance to win the NFC West Division if they’re allowing 30 points per game, even if their offense shines. You can pick up their “yes” contracts to win the NFC West for 21¢ each.
We agree with Kalshi traders: the Arizona Cardinals are a huge longshot to win the NFC West Division this year. They already have a quarterback controversy brewing between rookie Carson Beck and journeyman Jacoby Brissett.
Marvin Harrison, Jr. is spectacular on the field. But will he get the consistent passing that will enable him to fully showcase his skills? Look for the Cardinals to finish fourth in the NFC West. Their Kalshi contracts are currently available for just two cents.
Despite the relatively low trading volume for the NFC West Division market on Kalshi, don’t expect any major market movements throughout the preseason, as key players spend most of their time on the bench until the regular season begins.
The Seattle Seahawks begin their regular season on Wednesday, September 9th, when they host the New England Patriots at Lumen Field. The Rams and 49ers will play each other on Thursday, September 10th, in Melbourne, Australia. The Arizona Cardinals will kick off their regular season on Sunday, September 13th, against the Chargers in Inglewood.
