The Washington Commanders open the 2026 NFL season with a key NFC East divisional clash against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Commanders have concerns on the offensive line, with left tackle Laremy Tunsil potentially out for the season with a triceps injury. That’s bad news against an imposing Eagles front seven that includes stud defensive tackle Jalen Carter.

Both teams are adjusting to new offensive schemes with different playcallers, so it’ll be interesting to see how they look. The Eagles are priced at 68 cents to win this game. This is for three reasons: they’re the better team on paper, they have home-field advantage, and the Commanders have offensive line issues.

I’m not going to pay up on the Eagles at 68 cents. I also don’t like the point spread at -5.5, as that feels like too many points for a divisional game to open the season.
That’s why I’m going with Under 44.5. This is a bet on the Commanders’ struggles on the offensive line, along with two teams taking time to adjust to new offenses.
I like that we’re getting Under the key number of 44.5, as that means that a common scoreline like 24-20 would win this trade for us.
Look for the Eagles’ defense to be the main story of this game. They’re still one of the best in the NFL. This feels like a 24-17, 27-17, or 24-20 type of win for the Eagles.
The Eagles were originally around 64 cents to win this game, but the market has moved in their favor. This isn’t surprising due to Laremy Tunsil’s injury for the Commanders. Reports out of camp were overwhelmingly negative when it came to Washington’s offensive line. The market has clearly reacted to those reports.
