Week 2 of the 2026 NFL regular season begins tomorrow night in Orchard Park, as the Detroit Lions visit the Buffalo Bills at New Highmark Stadium. Both teams enter tomorrow night’s contest with 1-0 records based on one-possession victories.
With more than $2.6 million in trading volume on Kalshi, NFL prediction markets are forecasting a two-to-one chance that the Bills win their inaugural regular-season game at New Highmark Stadium. The weather is expected to cooperate, with a light breeze and overnight lows in the 60s, meaning that the stadium’s “windbreaker” features are unlikely to be tested.
Josh Allen was nothing short of sensational in his Week 1 appearance versus Houston, rewriting the “House of Horrors” narrative by scoring four touchdowns (two rushing) in a 36-31 victory over one of the league’s most widely regarded defenses. Jared Goff connected with Amon-Ra St. Brown for two TDs at Ford Field this past Sunday, but the Lions had to stave off a 2-point conversion attempt by the Saints to secure an overtime victory.
Although the Buffalo Bills are the frontrunner to win the AFC Championship this year, we think their 68¢ contracts on Kalshi are overpriced. Running back James Cook III still appears to be a bit undersized for the types of rushing plays that the Bills’ coaching staff is calling and the team has yet to prove it can stop a potent offense.
The Bills are the obvious favorites, but we prefer to seek out underdog contracts on the Detroit Lions to pull off the upset at 33¢ per contract. Traders who agree with that position can get the Lions and 4.5 points at 50¢.
Tomorrow night’s Thursday Night Football matchup is a standalone game ahead of a packed Sunday slate that includes 14 separate Week 2 contests. Going by recent trends, the Kalshi “winner’s” market for the Lions at Bills game could exceed $100 million in trading volume by the time the final score is determined.
The Bills are expected to rely on tight end Dalton Kincaid for a second-consecutive week. Kincaid amassed 130 receiving yards on five catches this past Sunday. For the Lions, their defense will need to avoid another letdown that allowed the Saints to push their Week 1 contest into overtime.
New Highmark Stadium holds about 60,000 fans. Sports media members are predicting that there will be a sell-out crowd on hand tomorrow night to christen the Bills’ first-ever meaningful game at their new venue.
There’s little doubt that the Kalshi “winner’s” market has been impacted by the Detroit Lions’ defensive lapses late in their game against the New Orleans Saints. The Lions led 21-0 midway through the third quarter. As a result, the Lions’ Week 2 contract price has dropped from 40¢ to 33¢ over the last 72 hours.
