The Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2) are fresh off a blowout victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Liam Coen’s team is quickly establishing itself as a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the AFC. With Trevor Lawrence playing at a high level and the defense continuing to improve, the Jags are a formidable group.
Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens (4-4) are reeling right now. Not only have they lost three games in a row, but they were forced to place quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley on injured reserve. Both signal-callers are likely out for the season, leaving third-string rookie Joe Fagnano to take over at quarterback.
It’s setting up to be a blowout, so let’s dive into the top prediction markets apps to see where the best trades are for Jaguars vs. Ravens in Week 9.
The Jaguars are priced at 82 cents to win this game. The point spread is Jaguars -9.5, priced at 52 cents. There are no surprises here. With a massive edge at quarterback, the Jags are well-positioned to cruise to victory.
The total comes in at 39.5 points, with the Over favored at 52 cents. This makes a lot of sense as well, since it’s hard to envision a scenario where the Ravens score more than 13 points. That would mean that the Jags need 27+ for this to go Over.
My favorite trade here is Jaguars to win by over 9.5 points at 52 cents. I know, it’s a lot of points for a road team, but there’s a legit chance that this ends in a blowout.
For one, Joe Fagnano did not look good in relief of Tyler Huntley against the Bills last week. The rookie quarterback completed only 10-of-21 passes for 91 yards. He threw an interception and was sacked three times.
Facing a Jaguars defense that ranks 4th overall in EPA, this is going to be a tough spot for Fagnano, especially since it’s a short week on Thursday Night Football.
The Ravens will try to lean on Derrick Henry to ease the pressure off Fagnano. But the problem is that it plays right into Jacksonville’s strength on defense, as they currently rank 2nd in Rush EPA. With virtually no threat of a downfield passing game, Henry is likely to be bottled up at the line of scrimmage.
Then on offense, the Jaguars should be able to do enough to win this by 10+ points. Trevor Lawrence is playing great, while Liam Coen is one of the best play-callers in the NFL. Barring a complete letdown, the Jags should cruise here.
When taking a look at NFL prediction markets, we see that there has been some movement so far. Even after Lamar and Huntley got injured, the Jags were 78-cent favorites to win this game, but they’re now at 82 cents. In my opinion, this still hasn’t moved enough. Getting Jacksonville to win by 10+ points at 52 cents feels like a nice deal.
