The moment NFL prediction markets have awaited for seven long months has finally arrived! This Wednesday, the New England Patriots will travel to Lumen Field to take on the Seattle Seahawks in a Super Bowl LX rematch to kick off the 2026-27 regular season.
Although neither team is a frontrunner to win its own division this year, both squads have playoff-caliber talent that could ultimately lead them to another run at a championship. For the Seahawks, Wednesday night will mark the first meaningful game since they won Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium back in February.
The Seahawks have a solid team identity and are coming off their second-ever Super Bowl championship. In fact, many of Seattle’s fans believe the two NFC West Division matchups against the Rams later this season will be much more difficult than Wednesday night’s home game against the Patriots.
Seattle is a clear favorite on Kalshi, with contract prices at 63¢ each with roughly $2 million traded. If college games taught us anything this past Saturday, it’s that competitive matchups can cause trading volume to soar to over $50 million while the game is still being played.
We think the Seahawks, behind quarterback Sam Darnold, rookie running back Jadarian Price, and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, will overwhelm the Patriots alongside the “12th Man” capacity crowd and raw defensive talent that Seattle will make full use of on Wednesday night.
If the Seahawks have any weaknesses going into Wednesday night’s regular-season opener, traders can look to the “Legion of Boom,” which could be missing two key members of the secondary due to injury. Safety Ty Okada sat out the team’s most recent practice, and Nick Emmanwori is likewise listed as questionable to play.
If Drake Maye and the New England Patriots’ offense are going to have any reasonable chance to keep the game close, they’ll need to put up far more than the 13 points they posted in Super Bowl LX. However, if the Seahawks’ pass rush keeps the pressure on Maye, the score could get out of hand and result in a Seattle blowout.
This market is bound to break in favor of whichever team scores first on Wednesday night. Due to a recent decision by Kalshi to suspend market maker fees for uncorrelated NFL combo trades, many forecasters will opt to combine the outcome of Wednesday night’s Super Bowl LX rematch with other games that will be played during Week 1 of the NFL regular season.
Market trading volume of $2 million may seem like a lot, but that number could eclipse $50 million by the time the final whistle is blown in the Patriots at Seahawks game. If New England scores first, sharp traders may swoop in to pick up discounted Seahawks contracts that begin to hover below 60¢ each. Forecasters looking for a market that’s already moved can jump into Seattle’s “Over” 23.5 total points contracts, which are experiencing massive volatility.
NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” production team will have the call once the action at Lumen Field begins. Premium NFL+ subscribers can stream the game live if they don’t have DirecTV or YouTube TV.
