The NFL keeps delivering must-watch television, and NFL prediction markets are here for it! The Sunday Night Football thriller between the Rams and Broncos brought in over $130 million in notional trading volume on Kalshi.
Now, fans’ focus shifts to Soldier Field as the 1-1 Chicago Bears host the 2-0 Philadelphia Eagles on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Will the Eagles soar as the Bears start third-string quarterback Case Keenum to replace an injured Caleb Williams? Let’s find out!
According to Kalshi forecasters, this game was a toss-up until Caleb Williams was injured midway through the fourth quarter of the Bears’ Week 2 loss to the Vikings by a final score of 9-3. The injury has forced the market to move significantly in the Eagles’ favor, elevating their “yes” contracts all the way up to 66¢.
Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and the Philadelphia offense will probably score well over nine points. Barkley and Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith are a little banged up, but both have been cleared to play tonight. It’s questionable whether Chicago’s offense will be able to keep up, even if Keenum has been a reliable NFL backup.
We’ve got the Eagles taking this game by a final score of 27-17. The weather won’t be an issue at Soldier Field tonight, which will be a relief for NFL viewers who struggled to stay engaged during the sloppy weather conditions that kept scoring at a premium last week.
Newer NFL fans might be wondering, “Who is Case Keenum?” To answer that question, we need to revisit the NFC Divisional Round matchup between the Vikings and Saints on January 14th, 2018. On the final play of that game, Case Keenum completed the “Minneapolis Miracle” pass to Stefon Diggs. Keenum has spent much of his career with the Houston Texans, but was picked up by Chicago in 2025 as an unrestricted free agent.
He was re-signed by the Bears in March of this year and is expected to get the start, despite being listed as the third quarterback on Chicago’s depth chart (behind Tyson Bagent, who may see some playing time tonight after being cleared from concussion protocol).
Still, the Eagles have too many offensive weapons and too much of an incentive to start the season 3-0, which would keep them one game above the New York Giants in the NFC East Division.
The market for this game’s outcome moved immediately after Caleb Williams was injured. With over $6 million in trades already placed on the winner as of Monday morning, there won’t be any more 15-cent contract-price movements between now and kickoff.
The point-spread market may be worth keeping an eye on during the first quarter. If the Bears’ offense has a shaky start and Philadelphia scores quickly, the fifty-fifty Kalshi market could swing to Philadelphia -6.5 in an instant.
Cable TV subscribers can catch tonight’s Monday Night Football game on ESPN or ABC. For live streamers, ESPN+ or DirecTV are the two main options.
