The Los Angeles Rams (1-1) bounced back in a big way on Monday Night Football in Week 2, cruising to a win over the New York Giants. The veteran connection of Matthew Stafford-to-Davante Adams made a major impact, torching the Giants’ secondary in that victory.
The Denver Broncos (1-1) also got back on track with a close win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their defense led the way, limiting Trevor Lawrence to only 189 yards and one interception. They also sacked him twice. This group will need another strong performance to slow down Stafford and company.
With the Rams likely playing without Puka Nacua for another game and already without Myles Garrett, they’re missing some key pieces for this inter-conference matchup. To that end, let’s dive into NFL prediction markets to see where we can find value.
The Rams are priced at 55 cents to win this game. The market clearly views them as the better team, one that got right in a convincing win over the Giants. But I can’t help but think they’re a bit overvalued here. The Broncos have one of the biggest home-field advantages in the NFL.
On top of that, playing without Puka Nacua can make it difficult for Matthew Stafford to move the ball against one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Rams will need to rely on the running game with Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, as the Broncos have been vulnerable on the ground. Just look at how Kenneth Walker gashed them in Week 1.
With that said, given how the Broncos offense has been underwhelming so far, I’m not going to choose a side in this one. Instead, we’ll look at the total to find value. Currently, the line is at 44.5. We’re getting above the key number of 44, which means that a 24-20 result, which is a common score line, gets us a win.
Given the injuries on the Rams, coupled with the Broncos struggles on offense, the under looks like the safer play in this one. You can currently get it at about 53 cents, making it worth a look here.
The Rams have been about 54-cent favorites throughout the lead-up to this game. There is some steam on the Under 44.5, as it’s currently more expensive than the Over. It wouldn’t surprise me to see that number move to 43.5 as we get closer to game time.
