For the first time in the NHL 2025-26 Stanley Cup Final, the Carolina Hurricanes looked like a championship team. Their dual-goal effort in the 3rd Period staved off another overtime contest, and moved the series to an even 2-2 total heading back to Raleigh.
Tonight, Game 5 of the SCF takes place at Lenovo Center, and the Hurricanes have regained home ice advantage thanks to their Game 4 upset of the Golden Knights. Can Carolina goaltending do enough to move the Hurricanes within one game of an NHL championship? Or will it be Vegas that takes the initiative and puts Carolina on the brink of losing the series?
Although Vegas has been impressive throughout the playoffs, we find that Carolina goaltender Brandon Bussi is more than competent enough to limit the Golden Knights to three goals or less for Game 5. For this reason, we’re taking the Carolina Game 5 to win at 60¢ all day long on prediction markets.
Tonight’s action will be in front of the Carolina fans at Lenovo Center, with the Golden Knights needing a lot of goals just to stay competitive. Carter Hart hasn’t been quite as effective during the Stanley Cup Final as he was in the WCF sweep against the Avalanche. The Hurricanes offense has generated enough activity to separate themselves from what Vegas can achieve now that Brandon Bussi is a starter.

A quick look at Kalshi trends for Game 5 tells us that not many traders have confidence in the Golden Knights for Game 5 tonight.
