The Carolina Hurricanes set themselves apart from the rest of the league Thursday night with a convincing 4-2 Game 5 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. Carolina now sits just one game away from winning the 2025-26 NHL Stanley Cup.

While the Golden Knights were able to scrap together more shots on goal, it was once again goaltender Brandon Bussi who staved off the Vegas attack. With their Game 5 win, Carolina leads the Stanley Cup Final 3 games to 2 as the series heads back to T-Mobile Arena for a Sunday afternoon puck drop.

Carolina Hurricanes v Vegas Golden Knights Game 6 Picks

The Hurricanes may have the advantage in the series, but Kalshi traders have the Game 6 moneyline locked at a dead heat. Vegas will be at home this Sunday afternoon local time, and could even the series at 3 games apiece with a single victory. If that happens, Game 7 would be at Lenovo Center in Raleigh Wednesday night.

Game 6 is a near toss-up, but we have to give the edge to the Hurricanes due to Brandon Bussi’s breakout series performance so far. The Kalshi prediction market price for a Game 6 “yes” option on Carolina is priced at 52¢ per contract – which is too good to pass up. But that doesn’t mean the Golden Knights will go down without a fight.

The Hurricanes are a clear favorite to win the SCF by taking one of the next two (if necessary) games. A buy for Carolina to hoist the Stanley Cup is trading at 79¢ on Kalshi.

Hurricanes v Golden Knights Game 6 Latest News

What Carter Hart did for Vegas in its 4-0 Western Conference sweep of the Colorado Avalanche, Brandon Bussi has done for the Hurricanes since being brought off the bench late in Game 3. Bussi has shut down the potent Vegas offense, saving more than 90% of all shots on goal during the series.

The Golden Knights did manage to win a Game 3 thriller in double overtime with Bussi in the game, but the deciding goal ricocheted off his teammate’s leg and into the goal at a point when there wasn’t an obvious defensive position to be assumed.

Media outlets were wondering who the Hurricanes starting goalie would be for Game 5; they’ll have zero doubts for Sunday’s Game 6 at T-Mobile Arena.

Hurricanes v Golden Knights Game 6 Market Movement

Unsurprisingly, the Vegas Golden Knights trade to win the Stanley Cup Finals has dropped off a proverbial cliff. Since the Stanley Cup Final is still relatively close at 3-2, it’s quite possible that Vegas believers will find some value in the 22-cent per contract price.

But Vegas hasn’t played well enough to win the last two SCF games. Carter Hart hasn’t defended well enough to put the Golden Knights in such a position. Brandon Bussi has… and that’s all you need to know about why the price for a Golden Knights Stanley Cup this year is so low.
