On Saturday afternoon, the No. 5-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Navy Midshipmen will face off in Foxborough for an annual showdown between two of the nation’s most prominently branded teams. The top prediction market apps are ablaze with trading volume despite Notre Dame being favored to win by 30.5 points.

Navy is listed as the “home team” at Gillette Stadium this Saturday, which will be nationally televised on ABC starting at 12:00 noon Eastern Time. With a matchup against top-ranked Miami looming in South Bend, the Fighting Irish find themselves in a “must-win” scenario following a bye week and a gut-wrenching defeat at the hands of the BYU Cougars in Provo.

Notre Dame v Navy NCAA College Football Picks

The 30.5 points that Notre Dame is having to give up on sports prediction markets like Kalshi make for some intriguing trading possibilities. On paper, this game should be a wipeout in Notre Dame’s favor. In fact, the Fighting Irish’s contracts all come with a 98¢ price to win outright.

But the Navy Midshipmen are capable of overachieving and making this annual contest a “close call,” as they did in 2022. Although the Fighting Irish have won the last three matchups by a combined total of 115 points, we’re taking the 30.5 points that are being awarded to Navy up front.

We’re also picking up contracts on the “under” 57.5 total points while projecting a final score of 40-17 in favor of Notre Dame.

Favorite Picks: Notre Dame v Navy Winner – Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Point Spread – Navy +30.5 points, Total Points Scored – Under 57.5 points

Notre Dame v Navy NCAA College Football Latest News

DJ McKinney, Notre Dame’s star cornerback, has been ruled OUT for this Saturday’s game. However, the offensive side of the ball remains relatively intact for the Fighting Irish. Quarterback CJ Carr has thrown only one interception over the course of seven games so far this season, and running backs Jonaz Walton and Aneyas Williams pose a formidable “dual threat” to opposing defenses.

Most of the media focus on Notre Dame is related to next week’s game against the Miami Hurricanes in South Bend. The team’s loss vs. BYU leaves no room for error if it wants to qualify for the College Football Playoff.

Notre Dame was snubbed last year in spite of its Top 12 national ranking and was left out of the postseason. The good news for the Fighting Irish is that their remaining two contests against nationally ranked teams (Miami and SMU) will be played in South Bend.

Notre Dame v Navy NCAA College Football Market Movement

Sports forecasters who are putting their trades behind a massive longshot may want to secure Navy contracts while they are still listed at 2¢ apiece. While the pregame projections will continue to trend in favor of Notre Dame, there’s a slight chance that Navy’s contracts could rise to 3¢ by kickoff on Saturday afternoon.

Gillette Stadium is a “neutral” venue that forces the Navy Midshipmen to travel from Annapolis, Maryland, as Notre Dame makes the trip from Indiana. The Fighting Irish won’t play another game on the road until November 28th when they go up against the Syracuse Orange.
